National Space Day 2026 is here, and Team ADYPU Ham Club (VU2DYP) is heading to space - one radio wave at a time!

Our student Hams are teaming up with Pune Hams VU2RCP, ADYPU & JSPN Universities for a two-day celebration of space, science, and amateur radio- hosted by the Cosmos Club, MIT WPU, at their Kothrud Campus.
Led by Herman (VU34HN), our team will take you behind the scenes of real space communication with three exciting, hands-on demonstrations:

Yagi Antenna Making - Watch how a simple set of rods and wires becomes a powerful antenna capable of tracking satellites and spacecraft.

FoxHunt - Part sport, part science! See how radio operators use direction-finding techniques to track down a hidden transmitter, just like real search-and-rescue teams do.

Receiving Images from the ISS - The coolest part: our Hams will demonstrate how to receive live images straight from the International Space Station, using nothing but a radio receiver and some clever signal processing. Space really isn’t that far away!

Whether you’re a space enthusiast, a curious student, or just love a good tech demo, this is one event you don’t want to miss. Come explore how a hobby as old as radio itself connects us to the final frontier.

Ever wondered how you’d talk to an astronaut? Team ADYPU Ham Club (VU2DYP) is about to show you how, at National Space Day 2026!

We’re joining hands with Pune Hams VU2RCP, ADYPU & JSPN Universities for two full days of space, signals, and serious geek-out energy - hosted by the Cosmos Club, MIT WPU, Kothrud Campus.

Team Lead Harman (VU3AHN) and our student Hams are bringing three demos straight from the field:

📡 Yagi Antenna Making - rods, wires, and a whole lot of physics. This is how you build an antenna that can literally talk to satellites.

🔍 FoxHunt - think of it as a treasure hunt, except the “treasure” is a hidden radio signal and the map is your own two ears.

Receiving Images from the ISS - no fancy equipment, just a radio receiver, some patience, and pure signal-decoding skill. We’re catching pictures beamed down from space. Yes, really.

If you’ve ever been curious about how humans communicate across the cosmos, this is your chance to see it happen live, up close, and explained by students who’ve actually done it.

Happy Independence Day 🇮🇳

Independence, in the truest sense, was never just about a date on the calendar. It was about what free people choose to build with that freedom.

Dr. D Y Patil believed the answer was education- not as a credential, but as the quiet infrastructure of a nation. A classroom before a highway. A teacher before a policy. He built institutions the way others build monuments: brick by brick, student by student, believing that a nation is not freed once, but built continuously, one educated mind at a time.

This Independence Day, as we remember him, that belief is the one we carry forward 🙏🏼

To Dada, family was everything. He believed that all you build in life means little unless it is built for the people you love, and he lived that belief every day. We were his first thought and his greatest pride.

In these days without him, we have felt the truth of everything he taught us. So many of you came to be with us: to stand before him, to offer your prayers, to share a memory, and to celebrate his life alongside our family. You came from every part of his life, and from every corner of the country.

The love we saw in these days has moved us beyond words. It has shown us how widely he was held, and how much of himself he gave to everyone he met. Each person who walked through our doors reminded us that the family he cared for reached far beyond our home.

To every one of you who came, who called, who prayed, and who carried us through this time, thank you. Your presence has been a strength we will never forget, and it helped us hold his memory with the dignity and love he deserved.

We will carry the values he lived by, and the example he set, for the rest of our lives. His love built this family, and it is what will keep us together now.

With heavy hearts, we bid our final farewell to our beloved Dadasaheb.

As he embarks on his final journey, we remember a life lived with purpose, humility, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving others.

While his physical presence will be deeply missed, the values he stood for and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memories forever live on in our hearts.
