SkillSurge Club’s Ideathon 2026 - “Rebuild for Tomorrow” - brought ADYPU students together to tackle real problems in Disaster Management, Smart Cities, Sustainable Living, Mobility, and Healthcare. No abstract brainstorming here - teams of 3-4 identified genuine issues, built solutions with a tech or sustainable edge, and brought them to life through sketches, CAD models, and 3D visuals.

Then came the real test: a 6-8 slide pitch, live jury Q&A, and zero room to hide behind a good idea alone.

Meet our faculty - Dr. Muthu Sankar Aathi, Associate Professor & Head of Department, Biomedical Engineering, School of Engineering.

With 13+ years of research experience and 5+ years in academia, Dr. Aathi holds a Ph.D. in Bio-informatics from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, along with two prestigious national postdoctoral fellowships - at ICMR-NIRRH Mumbai and ICGEB New Delhi.

His work spans 32+ research papers, 28 published in peer-reviewed journals - bringing deep expertise straight into the classroom.

MEDHA Hackathon 2026 wasn’t your average hackathon- it was 160 minds racing against the clock to build medical device solutions that could genuinely change how healthcare works.

Soldering irons at 3 AM. Debugging code at sunrise. Ideas that started as sketches, ending up as working prototypes. That’s the kind of energy this hackathon ran on.

Representing the Ajeenkya D Y Patil Group, Mr. Dilip Kawad, Chief Operating Officer, and Mr. Rohit Mhaskar, Director, had the pleasure of meeting the dignitaries and engaging in meaningful conversations around potential India–Belgium collaborations across education, healthcare and aerospace.

Some bonds don’t need words.

A dog doesn’t care who you are, what you have, or where you come from. They simply love completely, quietly and without conditions.

There’s something deeply special about that kind of loyalty. A wagging tail, a pair of trusting eyes, a presence that somehow makes even the hardest days feel a little lighter.

I’ve always believed that how we treat those who cannot speak for themselves says a lot about who we are.
