The Mechanical Engineering Department has dedicated and enthusiastic staff and most of them are well qualified and experienced. The faculty is focused towards inculcating technical creativity in the students along with theoretical as well as practical knowledge. The excellent facilities are available to achieve this aim. The department has well equipped laboratories, and has modern equipment related to Mechanical Engineering. In view to keep pace with the times, department has started the postgraduate course in CAD/CAM, which is unique in Pune region. The Mechanical Engineering department conducts regulerly paper presentation, Robotic competition, Quiz and Design competition during the annual Bhartiyam function.

🚗✨ Industry Interaction Session – “Design Your Career in Automotive Design” ✨🚗

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), College of Engineering, Pune, successfully organised an Industry Interaction Session on 18 August 2026 for approximately 100 students from Second, Third and Final Year Mechanical Engineering.

The session was conducted by industry experts from Asia Tech Center and provided students with valuable insights into the world of automotive design and product development.

🔹 Key areas covered during the session included:
• Importance and scope of Mechanical Engineering
• Role of an Automotive Design Engineer
• Product Development Cycle
• Understanding OEMs and MNCs
• Career opportunities and industry expectations

⭐ A key highlight of the session was a practical demonstration of the automotive door-panel design process, which took students through the journey from the initial concept to the final product. This hands-on industry perspective helped students understand how classroom concepts are translated into real-world automotive product development.

The session also featured active participation from the department:
🎤 Mr. Ashwin Nayak hosted the session and introduced the guests.
🏅 Dr. K. B. Sutar felicitated the guests.
🙏 Archit Chitnis, student, delivered the vote of thanks.

The session was highly informative and interactive, giving students an opportunity to gain industry exposure, understand real-world engineering practices, and explore career pathways in automotive design.
