Learn & Lead series 2020, began their event calendar by hosting an esteemed guest Mr. Shrikant Sarda, Managing Director, Accenture Technologies.

Under the mentorship of our club guides, Prof. Soumitra S. Samaddar and Prof. Rakesh Pathak, the event proved to be a huge success.

Moderated by our respected faculty, Prof. Dr Shrish Jeble, our guest spoke on lengths about his professional and personal life and gave the students knowledge and personal anecdotes of all sorts to help them in their own lifes.

Hosted by Mr. Vaibhav Raj and Miss. Nitya Bhargav , the event sailed smoothly with a record participation from over 200 students and faculties including Deputy Director Prof. Col. Ram Gopal sir, Prof. Pallavi Vadera ma'am, Prof. Manisha Saxena ma'am, Prof. Abhimanyu Pati sir, Prof. Bidhan Dutta sir, Prof. Saumya Mishra ma'am, Prof. Pallavi Murdeshwar ma'am and many more esteemed faculties.

Mr. Sarda shared his own insights and answered queries from faculty and students alike in the most graceful manner on topics such as:

1. Importance of soft skills over technical skills.
2. Functionality of sales roles post Covid-19.
3. The definition of success in life.

As well as many more exquisite questions that he answered with utmost patience and a smile.

Mr. Sarda connected on a personal level with the students and pressed upon them the importance of a "Go-Getter" attitude to excel in the corporate world among many other amazing advices that he blessed the students with to excel at their professional as well as personal life.

Sir also taught the audience the importance of being physically and mentally fit to stay at the top of the game to give their 100% every single time and also the significance of "Me Time" in the hustle of every day life.

The session ended with Shrikant Sir announcing the best questions to be awarded to Mr Raj Thakkar and Mr Jaydeep Bhuibhar, followed by a vote of thanks from our mentor Prof. Rakesh Pathak.

We thank Mr. Shrikant Sarda for taking out time to address and guide us today as well as our club mentors and IBS Pune for giving us an opportunity to organise such an interactive session to help the students learn.

Lastly a big congratulations to the new Learn & Lead team, Mr. Vaibhav Raj, Miss. Chinmai Marodia, Mr. Prateek Sharma, Miss. Sukriti Mishra, Mr. Prabhat Tiwari, on efficiently conducting their first event so grandly.

In the year 1999 Pakistan attacked India to occupy Kashmir but our braveheart soldiers did not let that happen and we fought it out and won the war. Many lives were sacrificed, many were injured but our soldiers saved our motherland. Every year on this day, 26 July, we celebrate "Kargil Vijay Diwas" to honour our soldiers and the victory at Kargil.

To commemorate this day, IBS Pune wishes everyone Happy "Kargil Vijay Diwas".

Alumni Guest lecture was held today in the P.A.C.T session of semester 1, section F (2020-22 batch) moderated by Prof. Dipti Inamdar, Prof. Tarun Kehair, Dr. Mansi Khurana and Ms. Devayani Nandkarni.
Our Alumni Guest for the evening was Mr. Abhishek Biswas (2002 batch) currently working as "Project Delivery Manager at Michellin".
The takeaway from the session-
1. Methods to increase emoployability
2. Doing value creating work, getting paid for it and learning as well as enhancing ones abilities in the future
3. Keep oneself updated
4. Cloud Computing
5. Data and AI
6. Should be able to sell oneself
7. Developing a strong network among people is beneficial
8. Decision making, situtaion analysis, team work, leadership skills and one should always think out of the box
9. Building communication skills, presenting ones self in a professional manner
10. Keep working hard, never give up and stay focused
11. The growing popularity of cryptocurrencies has aroused mainstream interest in blockchain technologies and their possibilities. Increasingly, blockchain is used as a generic term associated with Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency created using the technology.
12. Earlier RBI has banned Cryptocurrency due to security issues, but now the Supreme Court has lifted the ban and in future it will be interesting to see how challenges in the blockchain framework will evolve with respect to Indian crypto currency.

10K Charity Cyclothon: Pedal for Child Education in collaboration with Yulu bikes.
ICFAI Business School contributed for child education through this charity run wherein the money collected was donated to an NGO " Hope for Children Foundation" for the PROJECT: SHIKSHA KI ASHA. Cycles were provided by Yulu Bikes at IBS campus during the event.
