SIIB's International Relations first event - Celebrating Germany's Festivals has come to an end, and what an event it turned out to be. The day started with lighting of the lamp by German dignitaries and our Director and professors. After that we were mesmerized by the melodious duet of a Chello and a Piano. Bharatanatyam dance by students of SIIB was received well by the Germans and they were happy to see it live.
Continuing the German extravaganza was a great presentation from DAAD, which highlighted the educational opportunities in Germany and how it can be tapped for future professional growth.
Mr. Frank Hoffmann from Indo-German Chamber of Commerce enlightened all with the trade relations between India and Germany and the investments German companies have done here. He moved on to discuss about the business and economic differences between the two countries.
Along with the proceedings of the event, a drawing competition was held among the Ksh*tij - A SIIB community development program for underprivileged school children, students and they were awarded prizes from the German dignitaries.
Games were arranged for all to have a blast in the campus. The Germans enjoyed a lot while playing Dart, Game of thrones (Two chessboards in one chess game), Football and Musical chairs. All the students and Germans got a great opportunity to mingle with each other and understand their backgrounds and fields of study and work.
After the games all were invited for a German style BBQ buffet with a bonfire. The whole pathway and the garden was lit with lanterns, which gave an exquisite look to the place. The evening was filled with music from guitar and songs (some were German) and the burnt smell of Sausages roasted on the BBQ grills.
All in all the inception of the International Relations was a great learning place for all, and SIIB thanks all the German friends who made the event successful.
