Reflecting on an inspiring UWC Day at MUWCI!

On 21 September 2026, our campus joined UWC schools and communities worldwide to celebrate UWC Day under this year’s theme: Action for Peace, Planet and People.

Our students, faculty, and staff stepped away from their usual academic schedules to dedicate the entire day to hands-on work, creative expression, and community service across the Sahyadri hills and the Mulshi valley:

🌿 Morning Resolutions: We kicked off the day in the Wada with banner painting and discussions, followed by a community gathering at the Multipurpose Hall (MPH). The student-led Green Team led a powerful session resulting in a community resolutions to reduce parcel waste and be more mindful of how resources are used.

🛠️ Midday Action Tracks: Students split into nine dedicated groups on and off campus:

> In the Valley: Restoring a local medicinal and herbal garden, leading a street cleanup drive, and painting a community mural.

> On the Hill: Building a Solar Pagoda obstacle course, staging Nukkad Natak (street theatre), filming a short movie, painting campus murals, and handcrafting recycled appreciation gifts for our campus operational staff.

🍲 Community & Celebration: The afternoon brought us together for a traditional Pangad gratitude lunch served at the cafeteria, before wrapping up the night with laughter, poetry, and music at our student Open Mic!

Days like this remind us that peace and sustainability are not abstract ideas—they are active, daily choices we make together in our community. 💙

Action for Peace, Planet and People 🌍✨ | UWC Day 2026

This Monday, September 21, our campus joins the global UWC movement to celebrate UWC Day! We’ve packed the day with hands-on, student-led action across campus and into the valley:

> Morning: Wada breakfast followed by banner and stair painting, interactive discussions, and a community session at the MPH—including a sustainability resolution by the Green Team on parcel waste.

> Midday Action (On- & Off-Campus):
Students are splitting up into 9 high-impact activity tracks:
1. Off-campus herbal garden work, street cleanup, and community mural painting.
2. On-campus solar pagoda construction, theatre performances (Nukkad Natak), short film making, campus cleanups, and crafting recycled gifts for our staff members!

> Afternoon: Community Gratitude Lunch served in traditional Pangad style at the cafeteria.
> Evening: Ending the day with an Open Mic & Performance Night at the MPH!

Step by step, connecting deeper with the valley! 🏡🌿

Our firsties have had an unforgettable start to the term—from orientation and Pune trips to outdoor hikes, student showcases, and Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Today, marks their next major milestone: the Village Homestay experience!

During this core experiential learning exercise, students spend the weekend living with host families in surrounding Mulshi villages. Because these trusted families either work on campus or partner with us through Triveni community engagement, students step into warm, safe spaces built on years of mutual respect.

By sharing meals, participating in local routines, and practising Hindi or Marathi, our students gain a firsthand appreciation of rural Maharashtra’s traditions and culture.

It’s a transformative experience that builds empathy, adaptability, and lifelong bonds with our neighbours.

Building Confidence and Belonging: Celebrating the Completion of the English Immersion Programme (EIP)

At UWC Mahindra (MUWCI), language access and pastoral care are fundamental to creating an equitable, inclusive learning environment. We are delighted to celebrate the successful conclusion of our English Immersion Programme (EIP), which ran from July 27 to August 7.

This year, 15 incoming students participated in this intensive, two-week bridge programme designed to help non-native English speakers build essential academic language strategies, navigate campus culture, and transition smoothly into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Programme Highlights:
🔹 Value-Centered Curriculum: Each day was anchored in a specific UWC core value, combining language acquisition with deep explorations of peace, diversity, and social justice.
🔹 Holistic Integration: Beyond classroom instruction, the programme focused on social-emotional wellbeing, self-advocacy, and confidence-building.
🔹 Culminating Showcase: The programme concluded with a student-led Showcase, allowing participants to present their personal reflections and language progress to the broader college community.

We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated language educators, mentors, and the wider campus community whose support ensured these students felt seen, heard, and empowered.

Congratulations to our EIP cohort as they officially begin their academic journey on the Hill!

Looking back at a memorable Independence Day walk to Waghzai!

We cannot forget the incredible energy from our recent hike to neighbouring Waghzai. Guided by our dedicated Outdoor Education Service (OES) student team, faculty and students headed out past the campus gates to explore the local Sacred Grove and Shiv temple, with many making it all the way to the lush, green Waghzai plateau.

From getting caught in monsoon downpours to sharing laughs through the mud, these glimpses capture what outdoor education at MUWCI is all about: active community bonding, place-based learning, and effortless access to nature.

Living on a 175-acre hilltop campus means the wilderness is literally our backyard!
