Poona College EIFC successfully organized a Five-Day Institutional Competitive Examination Motivation Programme from August 17 to 21, 2026. The programme received an overwhelming response, with more than 600 students participating from the Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, B.Voc, BBA and BCA streams.

The programme began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr. Ahmad Shamshad. This was followed by a welcome address by the EIFC Coordinator, Dr. Muhammad Zuber Shaikh. In his address, Dr. Shaikh highlighted EIFC’s vision of connecting higher education with employability. He explained that EIFC supports students through free guidance, specialized library facilities, digital resources and continuous mentoring.

Vice-Principal Dr. Gulab Pathan delivered the presidential address. He emphasized the importance of strategic career planning and encouraged students to begin their preparation with discipline, consistency and a clear understanding of their career goals. He also announced the upcoming Foundation Session, which will commence on September 5, 2026, and will include approximately 50 lectures. This will be followed by an Advanced Session in December 2026, consisting of another 50 in-depth lectures.

Expert guidance was provided by distinguished alumni and resource persons. Mr. Ejaz Bagwan guided students on examination patterns, syllabi, study strategies and mock evaluations. Mr. Ikram Khan explained the various stages of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission examinations and spoke about the importance of discipline, selecting appropriate reference materials and maintaining perseverance throughout the preparation process.

The programme was coordinated by faculty teams led by Dr. Ashwini Daware, Dr. Jawed Akhtar, Ms. Jyoti Bhosale, Dr. Shaikh Shakir, Dr. Baba Shaikh, Dr. Mohsin Shaikh, Dr. Ahmad Shamshad, Mr. Waseem Ahmed, Dr. Shahid Jamal Ansari, Dr. Vidyasagar Singaram, Ms. Atiqua Chivalkar, Dr. Vakeel Sayyed, Dr. Nargis Wani and Mr. Shakeel Akhtar.

The Department of Computer Science, Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune, successfully organized the Deeksharambh – Student Induction Program (SIP) 2026–2027 for the newly admitted First Year B.Sc. (Computer Science) students. The successful organization of the three-day program was made possible through the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, the constant encouragement of Vice-Principal Dr. Gulab Pathan, the dedicated guidance of Dr. Shabana Shaikh, Head of the Department of Computer Science, and the valuable support of Dr. Shirin Shaikh, IQAC Coordinator, along with the wholehearted cooperation of the faculty members and departmental staff.

On the first day of the Student Induction Program, the newly admitted students were warmly welcomed and introduced to the college's vision, academic environment, and various student support services. Informative sessions on skill development, placement, NCC, NEP 2020, sports, and the Startup & Incubation Cell familiarized students with the opportunities available on campus. The day concluded with an inspiring Presidential Address by Vice Principal Dr. Gulab Pathan, encouraging students to pursue academic excellence and holistic development.

Day 3 was dedicated to a Parent–Teacher Meeting 🤝 organized by the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with IQAC. The focus was on building strong partnerships between parents and the institution.

🔹 Warm welcome & compering by Dr. Ashwini Daware.
🔹 Dr. Mohd. Shakir Shaikh explained the objectives of Deeksharambh.
🔹 Dr. Shirin Shaikh introduced the college, highlighting academics, NAAC accreditation, and student support.
🔹 Dr. Amjad Shaikh briefed parents on NEP 2020 – flexible curriculum, ABC, skill-based learning.
🔹 Dr. Zeenat Merchant discussed Institutional Expectations & Student Code of Conduct.
🔹 Inspiring Presidential Address by Dr. Gulab Pathan, Vice Principal.

B.VOC INDUCTION PROGRAMME

Day 2 was all about exploring resources and building connections!

📚 *Library Visit*
Our students were *accompanied by* *Mr. Shakeel Akther and *Ms. Isra Khan, B.Voc Faculty Members*.
The session was conducted by *Dr. Mohammed Zubair Shaikh, Librarian*.
They learned about library facilities, rules, book issue/return process, and how to make the best use of academic resources throughout their B.Voc journey.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 *Parents–Teachers Meeting*
Held in the Conference Hall and coordinated by *Dr. Farooque Y. Shaikh, Nodal Officer, B.Voc* along with the B.Voc faculty team.
Parents were briefed about college timings, attendance, uniform policy, discipline, and the ERP System for tracking academics and communication.

🔹 Dr. Farooque Y. Shaikh introduced the college’s vision, mission, and facilities.
🔹 Ms. Nikhat Hurzuk presented an overview of B.Voc. departments and career prospects.
🔹 Dr. Imran Baig Mirza demonstrated the ERP System for academics and communication.
🔹 Ms. Zareen Sharif highlighted opportunities at the Skill Development Center.
🔹 Dr. Aafreen A. Ahmed raised awareness about Anti-Ragging, ICC & GRC.
🔹 Dr. Musharraf Hussain encouraged participation in sports and extracurriculars.
🔹 The day concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Isra Khan.
