Earlier,in 1996 the institution was run as a college for memorization of Quran named as Karnataka Islamic Center with its foundation stone laid by late Sayyid Muhammad Ali Shihab Thangal the late spiritual leader of Kerala. Later,in ………… it was upgraded as an islamic shareath college named as Jamia Al Kousar Shareath college. From the same year onwards, the institution started functioning by giving admission to a group of 40 excellent students each year who would get admission through oral and written test .Jamia Al Kousar Shareath college has nurtured a considerable number of scholars titled as kousary who finished their graduation in Islamic theology and contemporary sciences from the institution and they are spread all over Karnataka in islamic educational and propagational fields. In 2017, it was affiliated to Co-ordination of Islamic Colleges (CIC) and adopted the whole syllabi, method of teaching as well as the rules of functioning incorporated by the academic Council of CIC . 1-KOUSARY COURSE
Jamir Al Kousar Shareath College is dedicated to assist Islamic scholars in facing the challenges of a modern era where Muslims may encounter misconceptions and discrimination. Jamia offers eight years study (kousary) comprising Quranic Interpretation; Hadith; Islamic Jurisprudence; Aqeeda; Thasawwuf; Islamic History; and Comparative Study of Religions. The Course also includes secular subjects: Social Science; Science; Mathematics; and Languages, consisting of English; Arabic; Urdu; and Kannada the mother tongue.Recently Jamia has stopped admitting students to this course.
2-KOUSARY WAFI COURSE
The synthesis of Islamic and secular streams of knowledge is an essential need of our time. One of the biggest challenges facing institutions of higher Islamic learning the world over is to produce religious scholars equipped with not only an in-depth knowledge in the varied sciences of Islam but also a sophisticated understanding of the scientific, cultural, political, and intellectual currents that are shaping our world. A solution to this problem lies in wedding classical Islamic education with contemporary sciences, and producing scholars who understand the specific needs of contemporary societies. It was with this objective in mind that the Co-ordination of Islamic Colleges (CIC), based in the Indian southern state of Kerala, gave shape to comprehensive Islamic courses for boys and girls, designed systematically by combining both Islamic and material streams of education. The CIC’s comprehensive programme for boys includes preparatory, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Islamic studies and a recognized Bachelor’s degree in a secular discipline. The PG programme consists of seven departments under three faculties namely Theology, Islamic Sharia and Language & Culture. This programme has been tailored to mold a new and promising generation of scholars with an in-depth knowledge in Islamic studies and a cutting-edge understanding of the specific pastoral needs of contemporary societies. ISLAMIC STUDIES & HUMANITIES
The courses are divided into three levels: -
1- Preparatory - 2 years
2- Degree - 4 years
3- Post Graduation - 2 years
The undergraduate level ( 6 years) programme covers the following academic disciplines
Theology ,Islamic Sharia, Arabic Language, & History , Humanities Studies
The PG programme consists of eight departments under three faculties namely Theology, Islamic Sharia and Language and Culture
One Academic year is divided into two semesters, comprising 240working days
One semester comprises 120 working days. It includes 40 academic weeks
One academic week comprises six working days and working day is devided into six periods of 45 minutes

2- SHAMSUL ULAMA THAHFEEZUL QURAN COLLEGE
There is a special section for the learning of the Holy Quran by heart with Thajveed which was started in 2015 by admitting 20 students and named after the great scholar of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama Shamsul Ulama Hifzul Quran Center . This institution facilitates the students to learn by heart the holy Quran with its laws and regulations within three years through a residential system .Boarding facility with food and accommodation at free of cost is also available for children. The salient feature of our institution is that we are not compromising with their school education during this period .Its worth mentioning, that by these two years itself we could present 10 hafiz scholars to this society . Today as many as 60 students are studying with free food and accommodation.
3- AL KOUSAR BOARDING MADRASA
Al kousar boarding madrasa was set up to take care of the educational needs of a backward communities especially orphans and poor children . When their poverty and insecurity pull them into an undesirable conditions Al Kousar boarding Madrasa comes to rescue them by fetching a moral and Islamic atmosphere which will help them to mould their character and personality along with islamic principles
Al Kousar Boarding Madrasa provides quality Islamic education under SKIMVB and these students will be sent to near by government schools regularly . Nowadays as many as 60 students are studying with free food and accommodation. OUR SPECIALIES
In order to provide a well-rounded and comprehensive education, Jamia also provides extra-curricular activities, cultural programmes, skill training, public speaking, writing skills, and other activities. The College offers Information Technology to a high standard and strives to keep pace with modern advances in IT and the Sciences. The Campus offers a Masjid which accommodates up to 700 worshippers. It is a substantial two-storey building with ample accommodation for both students and staff. There is a Canteen with a seating capacity of 150; a Library with a rich collection of both Islamic and secular books, references, journals, daily papers, and a well-furnished computer lab equipped with a minimum of ten computers. High speed Wi-Fi, Xerox and scanning facilities are available. Today, Jamia Al Kousar is on track to achieve all its educational goals and aspirations. Naturally, a huge financial commitment is required to sustain the College activities each and every day. With no permanent funding, Jamia is dependent upon the kind benevolence of its well-wishers and supporters.
