MATS University Organizes Interactive Workshop on NEP 2020
Raipur, September 27, 2024 – MATS University successfully hosted an interactive workshop on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aimed at raising awareness among students about the policy and its potential benefits.
Dr. Omprakash Chandrakar, Professor and Head, School of Information Technology, led the interactive session, focusing on how NEP 2020 is designed to transform education in India. He stressed the importance of students acquiring the 21st-century skill sets known as the 4Cs—Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking—to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.
In addition, Dr. Chandrakar introduced students to SAARATHI, a new initiative launched by the UGC. SAARATHI, which stands for Student Ambassador for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India, is designed to engage students as ambassadors to promote NEP 2020. He highlighted the roles and responsibilities of NEP SAARATHIs, including promote NEP 2020 across institutions, Organizing activities such as debates, discussions, competitions, quizzes, and Nukkad natakas (street plays) in alignment with the SAARATHIs activity calendar and other UGC-directed events.
The workshop concluded with a closing ceremony where Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Yadav , encouraged students to embrace the opportunities provided by NEP 2020, emphasizing how mastering these skills will not only enhance their academic journey but also prepare them for future professional success.
