The inaugural session of the 15-day (30-hour) Value Added Course on "Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in Teacher Education" was held on 23 July 2026 at Columbia College, Raipur.

The programme was graced by Dr. Raman Kumar Jha, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Columbia Professional University (CPU), as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Sumit Srivastava, Hon'ble Pro Vice Chancellor, CPU, as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Arun Kumar Dubey, Principal, Columbia College, was also present on the occasion.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Dr. Abha Dubey, Vice Principal, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the significance of Indian Knowledge Systems in teacher education. Dr. Neelam Arora introduced the course, outlining its objectives, structure, and key modules.

In his keynote address, Dr. Raman Kumar Jha emphasized the importance of preserving India's cultural roots, language, traditions, and knowledge heritage. He encouraged pupil teachers to remain connected with books and Indian knowledge traditions to enrich their personal and professional lives. Dr. Sumit Srivastava highlighted the relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems in implementing the vision of NEP 2020 and encouraged pupil teachers to integrate these values into their future teaching practices.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Abha Dubey, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, participants, and the organizing committee. The inaugural session marked the successful beginning of the Value Added Course with enthusiastic participation from B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. pupil teachers.

A one-day workshop on "Action Research" was successfully organized at Columbia College, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) on 22 July, 2026. The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize pupil teachers with the concept, significance, process, and practical application of Action Research in school education.

The resource person for the workshop was Mr. T. Raghunathan Nair, State Manager, Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, Chhattisgarh. During his session, he explained the various stages of Action Research, its importance, and its practical role in identifying and solving classroom-related challenges. He also provided valuable guidance on conducting Action Research effectively during the student teachers' school internship.

The pupil teachers actively participated in the workshop by raising questions on various academic and classroom-related issues, which were addressed by the resource person with practical examples. The session was highly informative, interactive, and inspiring.

The workshop was successfully coordinated with the active support of Ms. Roshni Verma, Assistant Professor, Columbia College.

On 18 July 2026, the Social Awareness and Extension Committee of Columbia College, Raipur organized a Tree Plantation Programme under the theme "Environmental Awareness and Conservation" in collaboration with Shaheed Yogendra Sharma Government Higher Secondary School, Mandar Colony, Raipur (Chhattisgarh).

The school Principal, Dr. R. K. Agrawal, and Vice Principal, Ms. S. S. Kujur, emphasized the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation. They encouraged the pupil teachers and school students to actively participate in protecting the environment and appreciated Columbia College for this meaningful initiative.

During the programme, pupil teachers and other participants planted saplings and pledged to promote environmental awareness and conservation in society.

A Teachers' Meet was successfully organized at Columbia Professional University on 26 June 2026, bringing together alumni of Columbia College and teachers from various schools. The programme aimed to gather valuable suggestions from educators and alumni to strengthen the University's academic initiatives and promote quality education.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the invocation of Goddess Saraswati. It was graced by Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Harjeet Singh Hura, Hon'ble Registrar Prof. S. S. Shukla, Director IQAC Dr. Arun Kumar Dubey, and Dean, Department of Computer Science & Information Technology Dr. Anand Srivastava.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Anand Srivastava emphasized that feedback from teachers and alumni would help the University enhance its academic practices and achieve its institutional goals. Prof. S. S. Shukla highlighted the importance of quality education, skill development, and collaboration between schools and universities. Shri Harjeet Singh Hura stressed the vital role of teachers in nation-building and emphasized the need for industry-oriented, skill-based education to improve students' employability.

Mr. Bhagwat Prasad, Assistant Professor, presented an overview of the University, while Mr. Devanand Verma, Assistant Professor, introduced the University's scholarship schemes and student support initiatives.

During the programme, all the participating teachers were felicitated with a traditional Shawl and a Shriphal as a mark of respect and appreciation for their invaluable contribution to education and nation-building. An interactive feedback session was then conducted, participants shared valuable suggestions. Mr. Deepak Pradhan emphasized continuous teacher development and career guidance, Mr. Dushyant Kumar highlighted meaningful learning and faculty development, Principal Ms. Neha Tolwani focused on skill development, financial literacy, and teacher-student ratio, while Ms. Ghosh and Ms. Kavita Verma stressed the importance of creating a fear-free, confidence-building learning environment.

The NSS Unit, with active participation from representatives of various faculties of Columbia Professional University, Raipur, organized a special programme on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026 at the University Auditorium. The programme aimed to spread awareness among students and participants about the importance of healthy living, mental well-being, and holistic development through yoga. The programme began with Saraswati Vandana and the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the welcome of guests and an introduction to the event.

The programme was graced by the presence of Hon'ble Guruji, Chief Guest; Hon'ble Shri Kishore Jadwani, Chancellor, Columbia Professional University; Hon'ble Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor; and other Hon'ble dignitaries of the University including Dr. Sumit Shrivastava, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Shiv Shankar Shukla, Registrar; Dr. Surendra Kumar Saraf; Dr. Anand Shrivastava; and Dr. Shefali Charan, Principal, Columbia College of Nursing. The event was also attended by senior faculty members from different departments of the University, teaching and non-teaching staff members, and students.

On this occasion, Hon'ble Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor, highlighted the importance of yoga and stated that yoga is not only a form of physical exercise but also a way to achieve mental and spiritual well-being.

Hon'ble Shri Kishore Jadwani, Chancellor, addressed the gathering and emphasized that yoga is a valuable heritage of India that supports physical fitness, mental balance, and overall wellness. He encouraged students to include yoga in their daily lives.

The main attraction of the programme was the Yoga Session and address by Hon'ble Guruji, during which participants actively practiced yoga and learned different Asanas and breathing techniques. During his address, Hon'ble Guruji explained the importance of maintaining balance between the mind and body. He shared how yoga helps improve mental peace, physical health, and overall development, and also explained its positive impact on leading a healthier and better future.

The programme was successfully coordinated and organized by the NSS Coordinators Mr. Sagar Sahu, Mr. Prahlad Choudhary, Mr. Manoj Verma, and Mr. Rahul George with active support from NSS volunteers.

On 09-06-2026, the Faculty of Education, Columbia Professional University, Raipur, successfully organized a National Webinar on the theme "Inspired by Nature: Climate Solutions for a Sustainable Future" in observance of World Environment Day 2026. The webinar aimed to raise awareness regarding environmental sustainability, climate action, biodiversity conservation, and the importance of adopting nature-based solutions for a sustainable future.

The programme commenced with the Welcome Address by Dr. Arun Kumar Dubey, Principal, Columbia College, Raipur, who welcomed the distinguished guests, participants and faculty members and emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility in higher education.

Sarpanch Samman Samaroh was organized at Columbia Professional University on 6 June, 2026 with the objective of bringing society and the university closer together and working under one umbrella to shape the future generation of the nation.

The grand event was graced by Hon'ble Mr. Kishore Jadwani, Chancellor, Columbia Professional University; Hon'ble Mr. Harjeet Singh Hura, Pro-Chancellor; Hon'ble Prof. Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor; Hon'ble Dr. Sumit Shrivastava, Pro Vice-Chancellor; and Hon'ble Prof. Shiv Shankar Shukla, Registrar.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kishore Jadwani reaffirmed the University's commitment to providing quality education for the development of society and the nation. Mr. Harjeet Singh Hura assured the Sarpanchs, to promote quality education in rural areas. Hon'ble Prof. Raman Kumar Jha delivered the welcome address and shared his extensive experience and insights in the field of education.

Approximately 120 Sarpanchs from the Tilda, Arang, and Dharsiwa Assembly Constituencies were invited and felicitated with Shawls, Shrifal, and Mementos in recognition of their service to society.

A plantation drive was also organized during the event, where the Sarpanchs planted saplings to make the occasion memorable and to promote environmental sustainability.

The achievements and legacy of Columbia Professional University were presented by Assistant Professor Mr. Vinay Jadwani. The event was coordinated by Dr. Surendra Saraf, Principal, Columbia College of Pharmacy, and Dr. Arun Kumar Dubey, Principal, Columbia College.

The Sarpanchs from various villages appreciated the University's initiative and its tireless efforts toward promoting quality education. The programme concluded on a positive note, strengthening the bond between the University and the community.
