Individuals have so detached themselves from the normal world that it is easy—and frequently convenient—to disregard that nature remains as giving as ever, indeed it vanishes bit-by-bit. Beyond physical goods, the natural world provides less tangible, but just as important, gifts in terms of beauty, art, and spirituality.

This is the first generation to feel the effects of climate change and the last to do something about it. People are not Atlas with the world on their shoulders. It's good to remember that the world holds people and that the best gift to the world is to plant more trees.
