NSS Unit Conducts MY Bharat Portal Registration Drive for Newly Admitted Students

DOONGI, July 16: The NSS Unit of S.G. Government Degree College Doongi organized a registration drive for newly admitted students on the MY Bharat Portal under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof. Chanchal Angral.

The drive was conducted by the newly appointed NSS Programme Officer, Prof. Kajal Samyal, with the objective of enrolling first-year students on the MY Bharat Portal and encouraging them to actively participate in volunteerism, nation-building activities, skill development programmes, and community service initiatives. The MY Bharat Portal serves as a national platform for youth engagement and provides opportunities for volunteering, experiential learning, and leadership development.

Prof. Kajal Samyal guided the students through the registration process and explained the significance of becoming part of the MY Bharat initiative. She motivated the students to actively participate in NSS activities and contribute meaningfully to society through selfless service.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. Chanchal Angral appreciated the initiative and emphasized that such programmes help inculcate the values of social responsibility, leadership, discipline, and community engagement among students. Mega Awareness Programme-cum-Workshop on "The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act, 2013)"
"The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act, 2013)" in collaboration with the District Administration Rajouri and the Social Welfare Department, Rajouri, on 10 July 2026. The programme was organized with the objective of promoting awareness regarding the legal provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, and fostering a culture of dignity, equality, mutual respect, and gender sensitivity among students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff.
The workshop commenced with a formal welcome of the dignitaries and participants. The resource persons delivered comprehensive sessions highlighting the significance of the POSH Act, 2013, which serves as a landmark legislation to ensure the prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment at workplaces.

*SG Government Degree College Celebrates International Yoga Day, Organizes Seminar on Drug Abuse Awareness and Cyber Security Documentary Showcase*

Doongi ,June 21, 2026: Under the dynamic guidance and stewardship of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral, SG Government Degree College today successfully organized a series of educational and awareness-oriented activities aimed at promoting holistic well-being, social responsibility, and digital literacy among students.

The day commenced with the celebration of International Yoga Day, wherein students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in various yoga sessions. The programme highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. Participants were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily lives to lead healthier and more disciplined lifestyles.

Following the Yoga Day celebrations, a Seminar on “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India) was conducted by Dr. Mukhtar Hussain. During his enlightening address, Dr. Hussain sensitized students about the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society. He emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, making responsible choices, and actively contributing towards building a drug-free society. The seminar witnessed active participation and interaction from students.

The third activity of the day featured a Documentary Videography Showcase on Cyber Security Awareness, presented by Prof. Kajal Samyal. The documentary provided valuable insights into contemporary cyber threats, online frauds, data privacy concerns, and safe internet practices. Students were made aware of the importance of digital security and were encouraged to remain vigilant while using online platforms and digital technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Aggarwal appreciated the efforts of the organizing faculty and emphasized the need for such awareness programmes in educational institutions. She stated that these initiatives play a vital role in nurturing responsible, healthy, and digitally aware citizens.

Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse Organized at S.G. Government Degree College, Doongi

Doongi, June 20, 2026: In pursuance of the Government of India's Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, an Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse was organized today at S.G. Government Degree College, Doongi under the esteemed guidance of the Worthy Principal, Dr. Chanchal Angral

The programme aimed to create awareness among students regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of adopting a healthy and responsible lifestyle. A large number of students and faculty members participated enthusiastically in the event.On the occasion, Prof. Kajal Samyal delivered an informative and insightful extension lecture on the growing menace of drug addiction. SG Government Degree College Doongi Observes World Environment Day with Awareness Programme on Waste Segregation and Management

Doongi, June 6 2026: SG Government Degree College Doongi, in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School Doongi, organized an awareness programme on the theme "Awareness among Students and Faculty Regarding Segregation of Waste at Source and Its Subsequent Management" to commemorate World Environment Day.The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of the Worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral, and the dedicated support of the faculty members of the college. The event aimed to create awareness among students and teachers about the importance of proper waste segregation at the source and effective waste management practices for environmental sustainability.
As part of the programme, an informative video on waste segregation and its subsequent management was screened for the students. The video highlighted the importance of separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, adopting recycling practices, and ensuring responsible disposal of waste to minimize environmental pollution and promote sustainable development.
