ICAN 2026: Advancing AI, Research & Sustainable Innovation

Chitkara University, in collaboration with Springer Nature, successfully hosted the 6th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence-driven Computing, Analytics & Networks (ICAN 2026), bringing together renowned researchers, academicians, scholars, and industry experts from across the globe for two days of insightful discussions, groundbreaking research, and future-focused innovation.

The conference featured impactful keynote sessions, expert talks, and over 120 research paper presentations across multiple technical tracks, fostering meaningful academic exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, analytics, computing, networks, and sustainability.

Distinguished speakers shared valuable perspectives on the evolving role of AI in smart cities, sustainable infrastructure, energy-efficient systems, and global technological transformation, highlighting the growing importance of responsible and future-ready innovation.

Where sustainability meets creativity, and ideas transform into impactful interior experiences.

The Department of Interior Design at Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture continues to inspire innovative learning through hands-on exploration and sustainable thinking. As part of the Interior Environment Control subject, students created scaled installations using upcycled and best-out-of-waste materials, transforming everyday waste into thoughtful design solutions.

Through this experiential activity, students explored materiality, functionality, and spatial enhancement while developing concepts that contribute meaningfully to interior environments. Each project was accompanied by a detailed catalogue/display card highlighting the concept, materials used, and the intended application and purpose of the product.

The exercise encouraged experimental design practices, creative problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of sustainability in interior design.

Art Beyond the Frame: A Powerful Exploration of Society Through Theatre 🎭

Chitkara University proudly hosted an evocative theatrical experience, OUT OF FRAME — a compelling social and psychological drama that explored the complex intersections of art, identity, and societal expectations. The play follows the journey of Kabir, a passionate painter whose fearless artistic expression challenges social hypocrisy and apathy, ultimately pushing him beyond society’s accepted “frame.”

The event offered students an immersive encounter with meaningful storytelling and thought-provoking performances that highlighted the transformative power of art as a medium for social reflection and dialogue.

The production was led by Amit Sanouria, Chandigarh-based theatre director and filmmaker, recognised for his remarkable contribution to theatre and cinema. The audience also witnessed impactful performances by Supreet Singh, Founder & CEO of Psychocare Health Pvt. Ltd., Rudrakyra Production and actor portraying the character of Kabir; Sayyed Alim, a renowned actor with extensive experience across theatre, web shows, and music videos; and Suchita Sharma, a talented performer known for her work in theatre, feature films, and video songs.

Chitkara University Signs MoU with Bonum Lex to Strengthen Industry-Oriented Legal Education

Chitkara University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bonum Lex for Chitkara Law School, marking another significant step towards strengthening industry-oriented legal education and enhancing practical learning opportunities for students.

Facilitated as an initiative by Career Advancement Services (Law), this collaboration aims to promote experiential learning through internships, workshops, seminars, legal research initiatives, mentorship opportunities, and industry interaction programmes, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world legal practice.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Senior Partners R. K. Naroola and Udayan Mukerji, along with Partner Designate Jaya Pahwa from Bonum Lex.

Through this association, students of Chitkara Law School will gain valuable exposure to practical legal processes and professional work environments while developing industry-relevant skills and insights from experienced legal practitioners.

Exploring Spirituality, Consciousness & Freedom of Thought with Acharya Prashant

At Chitkara University, over 1000 students attended a thought-provoking session by Acharya Prashant, Indian philosopher and author, that encouraged young minds to reflect on the deeper meaning of spirituality, culture, consciousness, and freedom of thought.

The session explored how spirituality, at its core, is about mukti—liberation from inner suffering through awareness, compassion, and self-understanding. It highlighted that true spiritual inquiry is not about rigid social conditioning or imposing choices, but about inward transformation and questioning the nature of consciousness itself.

Acharya Prashant also spoke about the distinction between spirituality and culture, describing culture as a social construct shaped by time and space, constantly evolving unlike the timeless pursuit of truth and liberation. The discussion encouraged students to think independently, respect freedom of choice, and engage deeply with questions that define human existence.

The event brought together distinguished leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, educators, defence veterans, and young changemakers to engage in impactful discussions around leadership, innovation, governance, national security, and the future of Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder, Chitkara University, in her keynote address on Artificial Intelligence, highlighted the importance of embracing technological advancement with responsibility, ethics, creativity, and human values at its core. Her insights encouraged participants to look beyond innovation and focus on building a future driven by purpose and empathy.
