Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi successfully organised “Quasar XAI Hackathon – An official Pre-Summit Event to AI Impact Summit 2026”, a 24-hour long Inter institutional hackathon, held on 30th & 31st January 2026.
This 24-hour, inter-institutional AI hackathon brought together bright minds from institutions including NIT Jamshedpur, IIIT Bhagalpur, NIAMT Ranchi, BIT Mesra, IIIT Ranchi, and JK Institute of Applied Physics & Technology, Allahabad, fostering innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving in AI.
Prof. Rajeev Srivastava, Director, IIIT Ranchi delivered an inspiring address centered on the theme of the AI Impact Summit 2026, “AI for Economic Growth and Social Good.” He highlighted the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in addressing societal challenges and contributing to sustainable economic development.
The event featured an insightful and highly motivational session by the resource person, Dr. Praveen Kumar, CEO, FIST–Technology Business Incubator (TBI), IIT Patna, who delivered an engaging talk on “Research, Innovation, and Startups in the Field of Artificial Intelligence.”
The 24-hour hackathon commenced with the activation of the timer. All the participants received enthusiastic appreciation from the esteemed panel members- Dr. Roshan Singh, Dr. Shashikant Sharma, Dr. Abhinav Kumar, Dr. Chandraprakash Singh, and Dr. Dhiran Kumar Mahto , and the winning teams were felicitated with cash prizes along with commemorative shields, in recognition of their outstanding performance and innovative contributions.

Quasar XAI Hackathon 2026 highlighted the creativity, technical excellence, and problem-solving prowess of students, reaffirming IIIT Ranchi’s role in innovation-driven education and contributing to India’s AI-driven national development goals.
