The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (Hindi: भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान, राँची), abbreviated IIM Ranchi or IIM-R, is a college of management located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. IIMR has already become the fastest growing IIM in the country. IIM Ranchi has been set up to serve the increasing demand for quality managers in the corporate world, whilst striving for excellence and working towards its core va

lue of inclusive growth. The vision of IIM-R is holistic development of individuals and society, and attainment of thought leadership through erudite fusion of ‘western processes and technologies’ for knowledge creation, dissemination and application and `the wisdom of the east’ for the holistic development of students, businesses and the society at large. We offer two year full-time PGDM, 18 months part-time PGEXP and research based FPM programme. It is the first IIM in the country to initiate PGDHRM programme dedicated to the HR field. The course outline for all the programmes has been meticulously designed, and is being delivered by world-class faculty. We have set up a Centre for Policy Research and e-Governance to offer a number of training programmes for bureaucrats and government officials on public policy and e-governance. Center for Neuro Management in collaboration with CIP (Central Institute of Psychiatry) and Rinpas (Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences), has been set up to engage in high quality research in the field of Neuro Management combining neurology, neuro psychology and business management. IIM-R has also tied up with IBM to set up a state-of-the-art Business Analytics Lab to pursue collaborative research with industry in the field of analytics.

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Mark Kramer, Co-Author of the seminal Harvard Business Review article "Creating Shared Value" (Porter and Kramer, 2011), Co-Founder of FSG, and Senior Lecturer, Harvard Business School, will deliver an online keynote address at Strategic Management Forum (SMF) Conference 2026, themed "Creating Shared Value: Strategy for Competitiveness and Societal Progress," scheduled for December 10-12, 2026, at IIM Ranchi. The keynote will be open to all registered participants.

IIM Ranchi observed the 12th International Day of Yoga with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff members, reaffirming the importance of Yoga in promoting physical well-being, mental balance, and a healthy lifestyle. The theme for this year’s International Day of Yoga, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighted the growing significance of Yoga in supporting healthy longevity, active living, and improved quality of life across all age groups.

The programme commenced with the live address of Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, at 6:30 AM, followed by a dedicated Yoga session at the IIM Ranchi campus.

During the programme, Dr. Anjesh Kumar, Nagar Sampark Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra, Ranchi, highlighted the positive impact of Yoga on physical and mental well-being, emphasising its role in fostering discipline and concentration. The Yoga session was conducted by Dr. Vishwajit Verma, Assistant Professor, Sarala Birla University, Ranchi, and Shri Pradeep Kumar, Student, Ranchi University, who guided participants through various Yoga asanas and breathing practices while explaining their benefits for flexibility, strength, and overall wellness.

Addressing the gathering at the conclusion of the session, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, encouraged everyone to incorporate Yoga into their daily routine for a balanced and healthy lifestyle. He appreciated the efforts of the trainers and guests in successfully conducting the session and felicitated them for their valuable contribution.

The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Jyoti Verma, Chairperson, Student Engagement and Development Committee (SEDC), Shri Divyanshu Pandey (Sah Nagar Pramukh) and Shri Prashant Kumar Shandilya (Nagar Sahitya Pramukh) from Vivekananda Kendra, Ranchi, along with members of the IIM Ranchi community.

Ms. Shini Gupta, Career and Emotional Wellness Coach and Founder, EQElevate, highlighted the role of self-awareness and personal branding in professional growth, encouraging students to build authentic identities rooted in their values, strengths, and contributions.

Ms. Shikha Taunk, Strategic Engagement Manager - India, AMBA & BGA, highlighted the importance of international accreditation, institutional reputation, sustainability, and developing a managerial mindset through active participation, networking, and community engagement. She also encouraged students to cultivate purposeful learning habits and make effective use of their time in the digital era.

Shri Neelotpal Sahai, Director - Indian Equities & Head Offshore Advisory, HSBC Asset Management, shared lessons from his professional journey across technology, finance, and investment management.
