BRIDGING DATA, MARKETS & INNOVATION: M.I.N.D.S. 2026 AT BIT MESRA! 📈🏛️

The Department of Quantitative Economics and Data Science (QEDS), Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra successfully organised the 1st QEDS Student Conclave 2026 titled M.I.N.D.S. (Markets, Insights, Numbers & Data Science) from August 21 to 23, 2026.
Funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and the State Bank of India (SBI), the conclave saw participation from over 140 undergraduate and postgraduate students from academic institutions across Ranchi.

Conclave Highlights:

✅ Day 1: Prof. Tirthankar Patnaik, PhD (Chief Economist, NSE India) and a 4-member NSE specialist team conducted a workshop on stock market microstructure, high-frequency financial data, order book reconstruction, liquidity analysis, and hands-on modeling in R.

✅ Day 2: Abhishek Sinha (Co-Founder & CEO, Eko Financial Services) mentored 25 teams of three in an intensive, day-long business hackathon. Co-judged by Dr. Sumit Srivastava, the top 3 teams won Alexa speakers and boAt headphones sponsored by Eko.

✅ Day 3: Prof. Tanmay Sen, PhD (ISI Kolkata) delivered an interactive technical session on AI-ML driven real-market business problem-solving, inspiring students to deploy quantitative frameworks to complex challenges.
