Govt. Degree College, Reasi organized Annual Awards Function for Sports, NSS and NCC.
Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi organized Annual Award Function in Sports, NSS and NCC in which the sportspersons form various games like fencing, volleyball, judo, wrestling, Archery and NSS & NCC Cadets were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in various sports competitions like Inter-college, All India Inter-University, Khelo-India University Games, NSS National Integration Camps and NCC All India Camps and Republic Day Camps etc.The program commenced with a warm welcome address by NSS Program Officer Prof Irfan Ali.The Awards were presented by Dr. Kulvinder Kour (Principal GDC Reasi), Dr. Udhay Bhanu (Principal GDC Pouni), Dr. Preetpal Kour (Principal GDC Dharmari), Prof. Darshan Kumar, GDC Mahore and other staff members of the college. Dr. Kulvinder appreciated the efforts of the sportspersons, NSS Volunteers, NCC Cadets and their parents in bringing laurels for the college by their achievements. Colourful Cultural Programs were also presented by the students of the college. Others present on the occasion include Prof. Romesh Attri, Prof. Ravi Kant, Prof. Hitesh Basotra, Prof. Satish Kumar, Prof. kewal Krishan, Prof. Irfan Ali, Prof. Baldev Singh, Prof. Mamta Kundal, Prof. Pooja Dheman, Prof. Rahil Dutta etc. Prof. Ajay Kumar (Fencing Coach), Mr. Shashi Kumar Sharma and Lt. Sunil Mangotra were the special invitees in the function as they were also honoured for their achievements during their respective tenures in the college. In fencing Parvinder Sharma, Gourav Thakur, Prashant Chib, Ajay Singh, Harsh Singh, Palk Bharti, Simran Rajput, Sneha Sharma were honoured for their outstanding achievements in Khelo-India University Games 2022 (Lucknow) & Khelo-India University Games 2023 (Guwahati). Bhanu Pratap Singh, Preeti Devi, Riya Manhas, Vanshika Bandral, Aksh*ta Bandral, Aditi, Atul, Rohit Thakur, Rohit Sharma, Mahinder, Munir, Nindhya, Neeraj, Riya Sharma, Sourav Verma, Sonali Devi, Sunil Roy, Suradev, Ashutosh, Anjali, Shreya, Roshi, Nazakat, Devinder, Priya Kumari, Simran Devi, were honoured for their examplary achievements in Inter-college and Inter-University Fencing Competitions. Azad Ali, Beer Singh, Nazia Akhter, Mohd Riyaz, Altaf Hussain, Sidharth, Nitin, Nikhil, Sanjeevan, Romina, Rabia were honoured in other disciplines like Archery. Wrestling, Judo, Volleyball etc. Khushi Chalotra and Amit Kumar were honoured for their RDC in NSS and NCC respectively. NSS volunteers Amit and Sonali were appreciated for National Integration Camp at Kolkata while Atul Kumar participated in National Youth Festival at Nasik, Maharashtra. NCC Cadets who were honoured include Gourav, Kajal, Vikrant, Sourav, Aman, Akshay, Abimanue.
The whole Program was organized under the supreme guidance of college Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour and supervision of Lt. Rakesh Kumar (ANO NCC & Phy. Dir. of the college), Prof. Baldev Singh (HOD of Political Science) and Prof. Irfan Ali (NSS Program Officer)
