EESS, or Electrical Engineering Students Society is the student organization of the Electrical department. It is the main driving force behind a number of enriching and interesting programmes - events, seminars and talks for the welfare of students, and to give them a platform to extract the best out of this department and college and gain exposure of the world beyond these 4 years.
The members get a lot of exciting opportunities such as working on open projects, interacting with professors and the chance to learn, explore and get hands on experience about various fields.

Hey everyone!
EESS is organizing an intern talk for Software profiles on 12th March to provide you an insight into the whole internship process.
As the intern season draws near, you all must be filled with various questions, doubts and fears, but don’t worry because we’ve got you covered. The speakers of this talk are the people who themselves were in your shoes a year back, and they excelled with flying colors, and now they’ll be sharing their firsthand experience with you, ranging from how to crack the tests to interview prep.
And the part best of this all, this talk would be held offline! The venue for the talk is Electrical Department room no. 326.

The IdEEaVolt 2.0 - Idea Pitching Competition's submission deadline is here and we have successfully received all the entries pitched forward by the enthusiastic participants. Students from across all colleges participated in the idea pitching competition and we have seen tremendous potential in all the entries received.

We are very excited and are proud to announce that we have received around 500 responses and over 250 submissions of innovative, exciting and enriching ideas.

EESS would like to whole-heartedly thank everyone for the overwhelming response received to the IdEEaVolt initiative.

The third lecture in the ‘Alumni Talks’, a series of lectures by IITR Roorkee alumni organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, will be delivered by Mr. Rahul Sharma, co-founder Zetwerk. Zetwerk is an online marketplace that connects buyers and suppliers for manufacturing jobs that have acquired unicorn status in 2021. We cordially invite you to attend the lecture via WebEx .

Rahul Sharma hails from Bhopal and is a pass out of IIT Roorkee Electrical Engineering of the batch 2012. Post IIT Roorkee, worked with Schlumberger for 3.5 years on oil rigs across the different oilfields of the world. Post that jumped into the start-up world by joining Blackbuck, which is a unicorn in the logistic space. There he worked on products and supplies. Started Zetwerk with Amrit, Vishal, and Srinath in 2018 to maximize manufacturing and Zetwerk acquired unicorn status in 2021. He is also the recipient of the distinguished young alumnus award IIT Roorkee.

In this talk, Rahul Sharma will discuss about his background, his motivations, tips for young entrepreneurs, his experiences, and his legacy followed by an interactive session.

Mr. Prakhar Kumar Singh, alumnus of IIT-R (EE 2015-2019), has secured an all India rank of 29 in UPSC CSE 2020!

He showcased an example of extreme dedication, hardwork, and sacrifice over long periods of time, something which only a small minority of population is willing to do.

We at EESS, and IITR would like to congratulate Mr. Prakhar for this momentous feat.
