Strengthening India’s clean energy future through research, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
IIT Roorkee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WRI India to collaborate on sustainable battery ecosystems, electric mobility, circular economy, critical minerals, and clean energy technologies. The partnership will drive joint research, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and policy engagement to support India’s transition towards a sustainable, resource-efficient, and self-reliant economy.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Vivek Kumar Malik, Dean SRIC, IIT Roorkee, and Mr. Pawan Kumar Mulukutla, Executive Program Director – Integrated Transport, Clean Air and Hydrogen, WRI India. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Yogesh Kumar Sharma, Dean of Resources and Alumni Affairs, IIT Roorkee, and Ms. Chaitanya Kanuri, Program Director - Electric Mobility & Batteries, WRI India. The MoU was formally exchanged during Battery Summit 2026 in New Delhi, with Prof. Yogesh Kumar Sharma representing IIT Roorkee.
Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, Director IIT Roorkee, Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, emphasized the role of sustainable battery technologies and clean mobility solutions in advancing India’s Net Zero ambitions and clean energy leadership.
The partnership will foster impactful research, innovation, and policy engagement for a sustainable and energy-secure future.
