Management education provides the basic principles and skills for successfully handling the real life business problems. School of Management offers two years Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA) and subsequent research activities such as doctorate in Manageme

nt and interdisciplinary fields. The department focuses on value based teaching, learning environment, research orientation, consulting industries by developing strong academic-industry interface. The architecture of the programme is designed with an objective to groom the future managers with strong conceptual clarity, analytical skills for problem solving, creativity and commitment, to fulfill the growing need of the industry. In addition to professional expertise, the department aims to give more emphasis on training students for collaboration and teamwork through the development of human relations skills, and attitudes that foster commitment towards individual as well as organizational excellence along with proper attention towards social and ethical responsibility. The different areas of electives which are offered are: Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Operations, Systems & IT management. Vision

The School of Management, NIT Rourkela, recently concluded its Social Immersion Program—an enriching and transformative initiative where 17 student teams stepped into the field to address real-world challenges aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.

The project focused on assessing digital literacy across villages near Rourkela. In collaboration with the Sustainability Drive Foundation, students engaged closely with children, parents, and schools to understand the realities of digital access and inclusion in underserved communities. The experience not only provided critical insights but also reinforced the importance of grassroots-level interventions in bridging the digital divide.

A special note of appreciation to Prof. Manvendra Pratap Singh for his mentorship and guidance throughout the program.

Congratulations to the Janseva team—Sourav Dash, Dibya Priyadarsi Jena, Namrata Mohapatra, and Jyoti Ranjan Behera—for securing 1st place with their outstanding performance.
