CUBIC HOUSES
Rotterdam, Netherlands

The Cubic houses, the most amazing but strangest buildings in the world. These are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in The Netherlands. The design of this building represents a village within a city. It based on the concept of “living as an urban roof”: high density housing with sufficient space on the ground level. It was designed by Dutch architect Piet Blom. They are cubes, situated in different angles over hexagon formed pylons, so they resemble trees, and altogether – make a forest. There are 38 small cubes, and they all are attached one to another.

A multi-talented singer, whose music ranges from ambient, electronic, acoustic, folk, and new-age Indian classical music, with traces of pentatonic Mongoloid notes, to modern day ghazals, with hits such as "Bulleya", "Moh Moh ke Dhaage", "Humnava", "Sun Le Re", and "Kyon!" to name a few, our guest for the celebrity night is a person who needs no introduction.

A pioneer of modern day fusion, folk music, an integral part of Coke Studio, and an acclaimed Bollywood singer, NITRutsav 2018 proudly presents to you the brilliant, mellifluous, and much loved, Angaraag Mahanta aka PAPON.

NITRutsav 2018 brings to you the first pre-NU event of the season: PIC-A-THON, presented by Hourglass, Toastmasters International - NIT Rourkela!

The contest will consist of 12 questions, each consisting of a set of 4 pictures. Linking the hints together would give you the answer - a movie name- which you will have to mail to [email protected].

The first person to answer all questions correctly takes home the prize!

The dance form, Kathak, is known for its rhythm richness and coordination, and is a means of visual portrayal of storytelling. It is a depiction of multiple emotions in myriad variations and, chakris, eyebrow movements and varying pitch make up the wow elements of the dance.

S**c Macay brings back the traditional dance form with Dr. Malabika Mitra, who is internationally acclaimed for the same. Having received a number of awards, she is well recognized as an eminent Kathak dancer. Moreover, the amazing percussion duo of Pandit Dinanath Mishra on Tabla and Sri Pratip Banerjee, Vocalist will surely make it the best start to the first event of the semester.
