Charki is here again!
The same Charki of youngsters that shook up the adults. Protesting against the genocide of Palestinian children, raising their voices of resistance, 'Chorki' of the Pathshalas's kids was suddenly formidable. the very same Chorki is coming again. From the private lane of Charu Market, through the bylanes of Jadavpur Station, Charki is coming; bringing a rainbow of thoughts and images from the area's youngsters. It's holding the many stories of Pritilatas' Pathshala and Ashu Timir's Pathshala along with protest images from the young ones. Charki has never believed in seeing the kids' experiences in isolation of their daily lives, the precarity surrounding them or restricting their ideas inside a glass jar. And so Charki cares, Charki raises its voice when Palestinian children lose their childhoods and are forced to die. So, this time too, Charki will come laden with everything that has touched every nook and cranny of these fringes, these slums.
And "Chorki"-it’s not just a magazine; it is the beginning of a horizon of novel ideas, aspirations of young hearts daring to dream big.
We all know how terrible 2020 was and how badly COVID-19 affected us. It was then that the Jadavpur Commune began and started the Pritilatas’ Pathshala along with the Ashu Timir’s Pathshala and Bhagat Singh's Pathshala. Chorki is a reflection of the students from the very same, it upholds their ideas in their own pen.
It is our second edition this year and we look forward to your love, warmth and help in fulfilling this dream.
