The history of the place dates back to year 1905, when Agricultura

l Research Institute and College, Pusa was first established by the British Government in light of the recurring food scarcity in the country. In its current role, the university extends its jurisdiction and responsibility in the fields of teaching, research, and extension in context of agriculture and allied sciences to the whole country with special reference to the State of Bihar.

उमड़-घुमड़ कर मेघ जो आए,
धरती ने ली लंबी साँस।
सावन की हर बूँद सुनाती,
जीवन का मधुरिम इतिहास।
कीचड़ में जब पाँव उतरते,
हाथों में हरियाली होती,
धान की नन्ही-सी पौधों में,
किसानों की खुशहाली होती।

इन्हीं भावों को साकार करते हुए सावन की रिमझिम फुहारों के बीच आज विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में धान रोपनी कार्यक्रम का उत्साहपूर्वक आयोजन किया गया। माननीय कुलपति डॉ. P.S. Pandey ने स्वयं खेत में उतरकर धान की रोपाई की। इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिकों, शिक्षकों एवं बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राओं ने भी पूरे उत्साह और उमंग के साथ धान रोपनी में भाग लिया।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान माननीय कुलपति महोदय ने विद्यार्थियों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि कृषि शिक्षा का वास्तविक स्वरूप प्रयोगशाला और कक्षा तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि खेत में उतरकर सीखने से ही ज्ञान पूर्ण होता है। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को अधिक से अधिक प्रायोगिक गतिविधियों में भाग लेने के लिए प्रेरित करते हुए कहा कि व्यावहारिक अनुभव ही उन्हें कुशल कृषि वैज्ञानिक, कृषि विशेषज्ञ और भविष्य के सफल कृषि उद्यमी बनाएगा।

धान रोपनी कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से छात्र-छात्राओं ने धान की वैज्ञानिक रोपाई की तकनीकों को व्यवहारिक रूप से सीखा तथा कृषि कार्यों के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को भी प्रदर्शित किया। पूरे आयोजन में सावन की हरियाली, खेतों की सोंधी महक और विद्यार्थियों का उत्साह देखते ही बन रहा था।

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa में 21वीं अनुसंधान परिषद (खरीफ)-2026 की तीन दिवसीय बैठक (6–8 जुलाई, 2026) माननीय कुलपति डॉ. P.S. Pandey की अध्यक्षता में सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में विश्वविद्यालय में संचालित अनुसंधान परियोजनाओं, विकसित प्रौद्योगिकियों एवं नई फसल किस्मों की विस्तृत समीक्षा की गई।

विशेषज्ञ के रूप में जूनागढ़ एवं नवसारी कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व कुलपति डॉ ए.के.पाठक, कोटा कृषि विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व कुलपति डॉ ए.के.व्यास, भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद मोदीपुरम के पूर्व निदेशक डॉ बी.गंगवार एवं बिहार सरकार के प्रधान सचिव (कृषि )के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में अतिरिक्त निदेशक (पौधा संरक्षण) डॉ प्रमोद कुमार ने विभिन्न अनुसंधान गतिविधियों का मूल्यांकन करते हुए उन्हें और अधिक प्रभावी एवं किसानोन्मुख बनाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण सुझाव दिए।

अपने अध्यक्षीय संबोधन में माननीय कुलपति ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय की सभी अनुसंधान परियोजनाएँ राष्ट्रीय हित, किसानों की आवश्यकताओं एवं "विकसित भारत" के विज़न के अनुरूप संचालित की जा रही हैं। उन्होंने "लैब टू लैंड" की अवधारणा को सशक्त बनाने, डिजिटल कृषि को बढ़ावा देने तथा अनुसंधान परिणामों को शीघ्र किसानों तक पहुँचाने पर विशेष बल दिया। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि आरपीसीएयू देश का एक ऐसा अनूठा कृषि विश्वविद्यालय है, जहाँ प्रत्येक वैज्ञानिक कम से कम एक अनुसंधान प्रोजेक्ट का प्रधान अन्वेषक है, जिससे विश्वविद्यालय में अनुसंधान एवं नवाचार की सशक्त संस्कृति विकसित हुई है।

बैठक के दौरान विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा विकसित राजेन्द्र हाइब्रिड मक्का-5 (RHM-5) एवं राजेन्द्र मक्का-6 (RM-6) को अनुसंशित हेतु प्रस्तुत किया गया। इन तीन दिनों में 58 विश्वविद्यालय पोषित एवं 8 बाह्य पोषित अनुसंधान परियोजनाएँ प्रस्तुत की गई ।

विगत कुछ वर्षों में विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा 25 विकसित किस्में, 29 प्रौद्योगिकियाँ, 8 डिज़ाइन, 7 कॉपीराइट, 12 पेटेंट तथा 1 जीआई टैग जैसी उल्लेखनीय उपलब्धियाँ प्राप्त की गईं।

यह बैठक विश्वविद्यालय की अनुसंधान उत्कृष्टता, नवाचार आधारित कृषि विकास तथा किसानों के लिए वैज्ञानिक समाधान विकसित करने की प्रतिबद्धता का सशक्त उदाहरण है।

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa में आयोजित आम उत्सव आम की विविधता, स्वाद और समृद्ध भारतीय बागवानी परंपरा का एक सुंदर उत्सव बन गया।

इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि डॉ. वी. के. मिश्रा की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति तथा माननीय कुलपति डॉ. P.S. Pandey के प्रेरक मार्गदर्शन ने कार्यक्रम की गरिमा को और बढ़ाया।

उत्सव में आम की अनेक आकर्षक एवं उत्कृष्ट किस्मों की प्रदर्शनी ने सभी का ध्यान आकर्षित किया। साथ ही, आम खाने की प्रतियोगिता ने प्रतिभागियों और दर्शकों में उत्साह, आनंद और सौहार्द का अनूठा वातावरण बना दिया।

यह आयोजन केवल आम के स्वाद का उत्सव नहीं था, बल्कि हमारे किसानों की मेहनत, भारतीय बागवानी की समृद्ध विरासत और कृषि नवाचार को सम्मान देने का भी एक सार्थक प्रयास था।

आम केवल फलों का राजा नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय संस्कृति, कृषि और प्रकृति की मधुर पहचान है।

🏆 Proud Moment for RPCAU! 🏆

We are delighted to share that Dr. P.S. Pandey, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, has been conferred with the prestigious “Man of Excellence Award” by the International Society of Extension Education (INSEE).

The award was presented during the National Conference on “Redefining Role of Women in Agri-Food Systems: Extension Strategies for Sustainable Agricultural Development”, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and remarkable contributions to agricultural education, research, and extension.

Under his visionary leadership, RPCAU has achieved several landmark milestones — from pioneering capacity-building programmes like Deekshamrambh, Guru Dakshata, and Karmayogi, to the successful implementation of e-Office for streamlined digital governance. The University has also recorded strong research output with 13 patents and 24 crop varieties released in the last four years, alongside significant improvements in national rankings (NIRF and IIRF) and consistent achievements in student placements.

This recognition is a proud moment not just for Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, but for the entire RPCAU family, reaffirming our collective commitment to excellence in agricultural education and rural development.

The National Conference on “Redefining Role of Women in Agri-Food Systems: Extension Strategies for Sustainable Agricultural Development”, jointly organized by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa and the International Society of Extension Education (INSEE), concluded successfully after three days of vibrant academic deliberations and stakeholder engagement.

The conference began with an inspiring inaugural session and brought together distinguished dignitaries, researchers, academicians, development professionals, extension experts, and scholars from across the country to deliberate on strengthening women’s role in transforming agri-food systems.

The conference was graced by eminent dignitaries including Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Bajpai, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Jai Prakash University, Chapra; Dr. P.S. Pandey, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, RPCAU; Dr. K. Narayana Gowda, Former Vice-Chancellor, UAS Bangalore & President, INSEE; Dr. V. V. Sadamate, Former Advisor (Agriculture), Planning Commission, Government of India & Vice President, INSEE; Dr. M. M. Adhikary, Former Vice-Chancellor, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya; Dr. Randhir Singh, Former ADG (Agricultural Extension), Indian Council of Agricultural Research; Capt. Dr. L. B. Kalantri, Secretary General, INSEE.

During the conference, 15 lead papers were presented by eminent experts, providing strategic perspectives and policy directions for advancing women-centric and sustainable agricultural development.

The conference comprised 6 technical sessions, poster presentations, and virtual sessions conducted under 5 thematic areas, facilitating meaningful discussions and exchange of innovative ideas.

A total of 86 presentations were presented under different themes covering extension innovations, women empowerment, agri-entrepreneurship, sustainable agricultural practices, institutional mechanisms, and inclusive agri-food systems.

The conference witnessed participation from a large and diverse group including research scholars, faculty members, scientists, academic staff, students, and representatives from PRADAN, BAIF, UNICEF, Reliance Foundation and other development and academic organizations.

In his address, Dr. P.S.Pandey, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, RPCAU, Pusa, emphasized that women’s empowerment is the cornerstone of sustainable agricultural development and resilient agri-food systems. He highlighted the need to strengthen women’s participation, leadership, capacity building, and access to extension services to create inclusive growth and long-term agricultural transformation.

The conference concluded with recommendations and a collective commitment towards strengthening policies, research, extension interventions, and institutional support for empowering women in agriculture.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa में प्रधानमंत्री किसान सम्मान निधि (PM-KISAN) की 23वीं किस्त जारी किए जाने के अवसर पर सीधा प्रसारण कार्यक्रम का भव्य आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री Narendra Modi जी द्वारा देश के 9.44 करोड़ से अधिक किसानों के बैंक खातों में ₹18,880 करोड़ से अधिक की राशि प्रत्यक्ष लाभ अंतरण (DBT) के माध्यम से हस्तांतरित की गई।

कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि श्री Giriraj Singh, माननीय केंद्रीय वस्त्र मंत्री, भारत सरकार तथा विशिष्ट अतिथि श्री Nityanand Rai, माननीय गृह राज्य मंत्री, भारत सरकार रहे। इस अवसर पर श्री बीरेंद्र कुमार, विधायक, रोसड़ा (समस्तीपुर) एवं श्री रामाश्रय सहनी, पूर्व पशुपालन मंत्री, बिहार सरकार सहित अनेक गणमान्य अतिथियों की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति रही।

कार्यक्रम में किसानों के कल्याण, कृषि विकास तथा आत्मनिर्भर भारत की दिशा में केंद्र सरकार की प्रतिबद्धता को रेखांकित किया गया। साथ ही, पर्यावरण संरक्षण एवं हरित भारत के संदेश को आगे बढ़ाते हुए वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम का भी आयोजन किया गया।

इस आयोजन में लगभग 500 प्रतिभागियों ने सहभागिता की, जिनमें महिला किसान भी शामिल थी ।

विश्वविद्यालय किसानों के सशक्तिकरण, कृषि नवाचार एवं समावेशी ग्रामीण विकास के लिए निरंतर प्रतिबद्ध है।

🌱 खेत बचाओ अभियान 2026 🌱

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa द्वारा समस्तीपुर जिले के मोरवा प्रखंड अंतर्गत धरमपुर बांडे गाँव में एक दिवसीय किसान गोष्ठी का आयोजन मुख्य अतिथि माननीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण राज्य मंत्री, भारत सरकार श्री Ram Nath Thakur; श्री रणविजय साहू, माननीय विधायक, मोरवा; डॉ तरुण कुमार, माननीय सदस्य, बिहार विधान परिषद की गरिमामय उपस्थिति में किया गया।

अपने संबोधन में श्री रामनाथ ठाकुर ने किसानों से प्रकृति संरक्षण एवं बेहतर स्वास्थ्य के लिए बायो-फर्टिलाइज़र के उपयोग को अपनाने का आह्वान किया।

माननीय कुलपति डॉ. P.S. Pandey ने विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा ‘खेत बचाओ अभियान’ को जन-जन तक पहुँचाने एवं सतत कृषि को बढ़ावा देने हेतु किए जा रहे विभिन्न प्रयासों की जानकारी दी।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान 600 से अधिक किसानों को एसीटोबैक्टर (Acetobacter) एवं PSB (फॉस्फेट-घुलनशील बैक्टीरिया) आधारित बायो-फर्टिलाइज़र किट वितरित की गईं।
