Beyond the Basics: Exploring AI/ML in the Real World

How does classroom learning translate into real-world applications?
On 3 October, students at Walchand College of Engineering explored this question during an insightful session on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning led by Kore, Project Manager, Persistent Systems | Tech Mahindra.

The session offered students a closer look at machine learning concepts, their practical applications, and how industry professionals approach real-world challenges.

Experiences like these help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, encouraging students to think beyond the basics and explore emerging technologies.

A sincere thank you to Kore for making this learning experience possible.

He had offers waiting after graduation. He chose experience instead.

Dhondiram Chavan, Electrical Engineering, Batch of 1989, spent his early years on the shop floor, learning by working with equipment, commissioning projects and solving problems firsthand.

Then came one unexpected encounter that changed how he looked at his future.

What followed was the decision to build something of his own, starting with a ₹7,500 order and eventually growing Opel Energy Systems into a company focused on energy conservation.

We are grateful to Yashwant for staying connected with Walchand and for sharing a journey that began right here.

Swipe through his story.
