Through its rigorous admissions process, which is transparent and based solely on merit, the Institute ensures that the student community is committed to the learning process . Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently concluded the Social Responsibility & Action (SRA) course for its second-year PGDM Healthcare Management (HCM) students with an engaging session on the strategic role of sustainability in business.

The session featured Ms Gagandeep K Bhullar, Founder, SuperHumanRace, in conversation with Prof. Ajit Parulekar (Ajit Parulekar), Director, GIM, and Prof. Sreerupa Sengupta, Chairperson, PGDM HCM. Course facilitator Prof. Divya Singhal (Divya Singhal), Professor, GIM, set the context for the discussion, highlighting the importance of integrating sustainability and social responsibility into business decision-making. The session explored sustainability as a strategic imperative, along with organisational value creation and the growing relevance of Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) in India.

The discussion brought students closer to the practical realities of translating sustainability commitments into organisational practice, balancing business objectives with environmental and social responsibilities, and recognising sustainability as a driver of innovation, resilience, and long-term value.

Bridging the Action Gap in Cancer Care

The students of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) through the Service Learning and Rural Immersion (SLRI) programme, worked with the ‘Sangini Cancer Care Society’ (Sangini Cancer Care Society) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to address a massive knowledge-action gap.

Their research found that while 93.7% of the public had “heard” of cancer, only 3.2% had ever considered a screening. The team reframed the issue from “cost” to “behavior,” identifying that 87.3% of respondents had no idea what a mammogram was. By launching survivor-led campaigns and simplifying medical info into local language content, the students moved the needle from awareness toward preventive action.

The team behind the impact of reframing the cancer crisis comprised Mr Achal Jain, Ms Aditi Singh Parihar, Ms Advika Srivastava, Mr Divij Katyal, Ms Mahak Agarwal, and Mr Tanishk Saraswat. The project was undertaken under the guidance of Prof. Israel Fortin, Assistant Professor, GIM in collaboration with Sangini Cancer Care Society.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently hosted the ‘GIMPACT Quest Hackathon 2026’ as part of the induction programme for the incoming batch of 2026–2028. Organised by the Centre for Creativity, Innovation, Design Thinking, and Technology (CCIDT) (CCIDT GIM) GIM, the institute-wide hackathon challenged students to collaborate, innovate, and create practical solutions to real-world problems.

The immersive initiative fostered teamwork, creative thinking, and innovation among the new cohort while reinforcing GIM’s commitment to hands-on learning and preparing future-ready leaders.

Land without security in the Velip Community

The students of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) through their Social Learning and Rural Immersion (SLRI) programme, documented how land tenure insecurity is driving poverty in the tribal Velip community in Goa. They found that only 22% of surveyed households held individual land titles, leaving the rest ineligible for agricultural credit or subsidies. Despite being only 5 kilometres from the Salaulim Dam, several wards remained without irrigation, and students observed caste-based discrimination in water distribution. The project provided the evidence base needed to advocate for formal land demarcation and urgent irrigation extension.

The project was undertaken by Ms Prajval Padate, Mr Daivik Dhar, Ms Sneha K, Mr Nithin S, Ms Saloni Gupta, and Ms Anushka Agrawal under the guidance of Prof. Aishwarya Ramesh, Assistant Professor, GIM in collaboration with Government College Quepem represented by Dr Reyna Sequiera.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is pleased to share that the research paper titled ‘Invisible Labour, Visible Struggles: The Plight of Domestic Workers in Post COVID-19 Pandemic India’ by Prof. Kingshuk Sarkar, Professor, General Mangement and Public Policy, GIM, Ms Faiza Ruksar Arif, Feminist Researcher and Founder - The KaiTai Collective and Prof. Sreerupa Sengupta, Associate Professor and Chair, Healthcare Management (HCM), GIM, has been published in the E-Journal of International and Comparative Labour Studies.

The study examines the challenges faced by domestic workers in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting issues of livelihood insecurity, labour rights, legal protection, and collective bargaining. Drawing on extensive field research across Goa and West Bengal, it sheds light on the lived experiences of one of India's most overlooked workforces while advocating for stronger institutional safeguards and policy reforms.

This publication reflects GIM's commitment to impactful, socially relevant research that addresses pressing labour and public policy challenges. We congratulate the authors on this significant academic achievement and their contribution to advancing discourse on equity, dignity, and workers' rights.

Brainvista () - The Quiz Club of Goa Institute of Management (GIM), recently hosted ‘Reels & Frames’, a quiz competition centred on movies and television shows. The event brought together students for a series of engaging rounds that tested their knowledge, teamwork, and quick thinking.

The competition began with ‘Fast and Curious’, where teams identified movies and shows through audio visual clues before exchanging a teammate through a random draw. Qualifying teams then advanced to ‘The Matrix’, followed by the finale, ‘Lord of the Wins’, where the top five teams competed in a creative adaptation of Dumb Charades using only dialogues, music, or other restricted cues.

Blending screen culture with strategy and creativity, the competition showcased GIM’s commitment to creating engaging platforms that inspire learning and collaboration.
