BioBeacons and SciVenture Club, School of Engineering and Sciences, in collaboration with Institution's Innovation Council, a Ministry of HRD Initiative, celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in STEM.

The event commenced with an inspiring address by Prof. (Dr.) Thammi Reddy Konala, Dean, emphasizing the importance of curiosity, inclusivity, and innovation in shaping the future of academia. Prof. (Dr.) Anindita Roy Chowdhury, Assistant Dean and the Speaker for the event, reflected on the legacy of pioneering women in science. Prof. (Dr.) Seema Mishra, Professor, highlighted emerging opportunities and the evolving landscape of STEM careers.

Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX AUTOMATION Industry 4.0 Training Program at GD Goenka University

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), GD Goenka University organized the ‘ctrlX AUTOMATION Industry 4.0 Training Program’ in collaboration with Bosch Rexroth (India) Private Limited at the University’s Centre of Excellence 4.0. The session served as a valuable platform for students and faculty members to gain insights and explore opportunities for strengthening academic–industry collaboration in advanced industrial automation and Industry 4.0 technologies. The program was conducted by Mr. Bhargav Joshi, Technical Training Head, and Mr. Deepak, Head – North Zone Operations, Bosch Rexroth (India) Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Bhargav Joshi conducted an engaging hands-on training session on ctrlX Automation, showcasing its open, app-based architecture designed for modern industrial control systems. Mr. Deepak elaborated on key Industry 4.0 concepts, including smart manufacturing, real-time data exchange, and IoT integration. The session offered practical exposure to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, system connectivity, and cloud-enabled automation, enabling participants to understand how ctrlX Automation facilitates flexible, scalable, and efficient industrial solutions.
Furthermore, the interaction with the representatives focused on exploring opportunities to introduce faculty training programs on ctrlX Automation, aimed at strengthening teaching competencies in alignment with current industrial standards. The dialogue also emphasized the integration of Bosch Rexroth (India) Pvt. Ltd.’s automation technologies into the ECE curriculum to promote hands-on, industry-relevant learning.
The training program was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean and Dr. Hunny Pahuja, HoD and was well organized by Dr. Alok Srivastav, Associate Professor.

Industrial Visit to the VVA Auto Industries Pvt. Ltd., Palwal, Faridabad

School of Engineering and Sciences (SOES), GD Goenka University successfully organized an Industrial Visit to the VVA Auto Industries Pvt. Ltd., Palwal, Faridabad, Haryana for Mechanical Engineering students by the Faculty Coordinators Dr. Dipesh Popli and Mr. Bhagat Singh, who also accompanied the students during the visit.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to modern industrial practices and insights into emerging developments in Electric Vehicle (EV) technology and sustainable mobility solutions. The program began with an engaging introductory session conducted by industry experts. A detailed explanation of the plant operations and its working was provided by Mr. Rahul, Plant Head, who elaborated on the production processes, system integration, and overall workflow of the facility. The experts also discussed the growing importance of electric mobility and sustainable transportation systems in today’s engineering landscape.

During the guided plant tour, students observed various stages of production, including automated assembly lines, precision manufacturing processes, and quality control mechanisms. Special emphasis was placed on understanding electric vehicle systems such as battery technology, electric powertrain components, and energy management systems. Students also gained valuable knowledge about quality assurance practices, industrial safety standards, and environmentally responsible manufacturing approaches followed in modern industries. Interaction with industry professionals provided important insights into the technical skills and competencies required for future engineers in the rapidly evolving EV sector.
The visit was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, School of Engineering and Sciences. Celebrating Excellence: SoES Students Excel at Anveshana 2025–26

The students of School of Engineering and Sciences brought great pride and national level recognition by securing finalist positions at Anveshana 2025–26. Competing against numerous participants from across the country, they truly distinguished themselves on this prestigious platform that celebrates innovation, creativity, and scientific thinking among young learners.

Out of hundreds of project submissions, only 32 were shortlisted for the regional finals of Anveshana 2026. Three projects mentored by SoES faculty secured finalist positions, demonstrating the School’s dedication to hands-on learning, innovation, and advancing a research-oriented academic culture. The projects include:

· “Smart Bicycle Generator-Powered Adaptive Lamp with Mirror-Based Light Amplification”, developed by Shubham Srivastava and Rudra Pandey under the mentorship of Dr. Manka Sharma.

· “Sustainable Polysaccharide & Plant Bioactive Compound PVA-Based Bioplastics Reinforced with Algal Inputs”, developed by Preetam and Muskan Khan under the guidance of Dr. Smita Kumari.

· “ECOPE - Automated Vision-Based Public Littering Detection System for Smart City Monitoring”, developed by Disha and Sarthak Singh under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Anindita Roy Chowdhury.

The initiative was carried out under the inspiring guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean and was executed by Prof. (Dr.) Anindita Roy Chowdhury, Assistant Dean who actively facilitated communication, provided academic guidance, and supported both mentors and students.

Participation in Anveshana 2025-26 has provided valuable exposure, encouraging young innovators to develop sustainable and technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering proudly organized an educational visit for faculty and students to the prestigious India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Organized under the IndiaAI Mission by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, the summit brought together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, startups, and academicians to explore the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence.

The visit offered students a valuable opportunity to witness cutting-edge AI innovations across healthcare, agriculture, education, smart cities, robotics, and sustainable development. They explored live demonstrations of AI-powered healthcare diagnostics, smart surveillance systems, autonomous robotics, intelligent automation platforms, and AI-enabled data solutions addressing real-world societal challenges.

The visit was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean and Dr. Hunny Pahuja, HoD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Dr. Gajendra Singh, Assistant Professor, accompanied the students during the visit.

GD Goenka University Celebrates National Science Day 2026 with Innovation and Scientific Excellence

GD Goenka University celebrated National Science Day 2026 on 27–28 February with remarkable enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to fostering scientific temper, innovation, and research-driven education. The celebration marked the historic discovery of the Raman Effect by Nobel Laureate Sir C. V. Raman and brought together academia, industry, and young innovators under one platform.

The event was graced by the Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Shenoy and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Dhirendra Singh Parihar. The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) N. C. Gupta, Former Dean – School of Environment Management and Director, Atal Incubation Centre, GGSIPU, and Guest of Honour Dr. (Prof.) Ravi Sauhta, Director, Trauma Resource Centre, Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon inspired students to adopt a scientific outlook and translate innovation into societal impact.
The two-day program featured expert lectures, interactive technical sessions, and high-energy competitions including Alchemy – Magic with Science, Rangovation – Sci-Tech Rangoli, Ladder of Knowledge, Cognitive Fusion, and Ingenium – Project Expo.

Ingenium showcased practical solutions to real-world challenges. Eight outstanding projects were selected across software and hardware domains, reflecting the strong innovation culture at the University. The event saw active participation from institutions across Delhi-NCR including Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Govt. Polytechnic College – Indri, Ganga Institute of Technology and Management, and SGT University. Visiting school students also engaged enthusiastically in competitions and interactive sessions. Industry representatives from StarWire, Faridabad appreciated the quality and applicability of the projects.

The event was conducted under the guidance of the Organizing Chair, Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, and effectively coordinated by the Convener, Prof. (Dr.) Anindita Roy Chowdhury. The Department of Basic and Applied Sciences, School of Engineering and Sciences, in collaboration with the School of Agricultural Sciences, successfully organized a workshop on ‘Basic Molecular Techniques’. Dr. Archana Dayal, Director, Zenomix BioLab Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Pushpender Kumar Sharma, Amity University and Dr. Sonia Kumari Shishodia, Chandigarh University, were invited as expert speakers for the workshop. Dr. Archana delivered an insightful talk on career opportunities in Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Agricultural sciences. Dr. Pushpender discussed the basic concepts and applications of molecular techniques, covering DNA extraction and quantification, gel electrophoresis, PCR, DNA ligation, and bacterial transformation. Dr. Sonia Kumari Shishodia delivered an engaging session on “Psychology Secrets Behind Academic Triumph,” motivating students toward academic excellence. The Department of Basic and Applied Sciences, School of Engineering & Sciences (SoES), GD Goenka University organized a workshop on Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) by Mr. Anuraag Singh, CEO & Co-Founder, Systools, and Mr. Viral Patel, GM – DFIR Operations, Systools, who delivered in-depth, industry-focused insights into DFIR fundamentals, real-world investigation lifecycles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), career pathways in digital forensics and cyber investigations, along with live demonstrations of widely used DFIR tools.

The workshop was organized for students and faculty members from the Forensic Science and Cybersecurity programs. It commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, School of Engineering and Sciences, who highlighted the importance of Digital Forensics as a critical need of the hour. He warmly welcomed Systools for collaboration and emphasized the significance of professional certifications in the field of Digital Forensics.

Mr. Anuraag Singh initiated the session with an overview of DFIR fundamentals, detailing the processes involved in identifying cyber incidents, carrying out investigations, and ensuring secure information management. Mr. Viral Patel further discussed various cybercrimes and data breaches, highlighting effective organizational response strategies to protect digital systems and reduce potential impact. A major emphasis was placed on maintaining the integrity of digital evidence through appropriate handling and preservation protocols.

The session was attended by Prof.(Dr.) Naresh Sharma, Head, DBAS, Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Associate Professor and Faculty Incharge, and Mr. Fakhruddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Sciences, GD Goenka University proudly hosted IBM ICE Day 2026 on 19–20 February 2026 in collaboration with the IBM Innovation Centre for Education (ICE), under the theme “Accelerating Excellence: From Learning to Leading.”

The inaugural ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Shenoy (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor), Prof. (Dr.) Dhirendra Singh Parihar (Pro-Vice Chancellor, Administration & Registrar), and Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy (Dean, School of Engineering and Sciences).
