Congratulations to Professor Dr. Annika Bose Styczynski of the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy for publishing a highly relevant new edited volume from Routledge on ’s hashtag transition as it aims to achieve by 2070. We at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) strongly endorse this book, which has original case studies and empirical evidence on a range of alternative energy sources, green and considerations by leading scholars and practitioners. As the editor puts it, India is a key member of “solution-oriented countries”, and how it shapes its systems and institutions to move to energy while pursuing hashtag growth will be decisive for the world.

“It is only with peers who support & stimulate growth, does growth happen. College has been an experience where I've been encouraged to think in a broader spectrum of things than ever before. JGU has already shown me not only how much I can grow, but how much I've already grown,” says Agastya Bhargava, a student of B.A. (Hons) Economics at Jindal School of Government & Public Policy (JSGP).

"Economics is present in everyday life. In choosing to study it, one learns not just the mechanics of the market but also a way to make the most of life," believes Agastya.

"The most astounding is intellectual growth, and at , you are constantly encouraged by professors and peers," says Agastya, who has found himself constantly growing with every interaction. Whether it is assignments, readings or conversations on global topics, the learning curve is always on the rise.

"Adeptly adapting to online methods of teaching, the professors have always been approachable and they always encourage students to think for themselves. I look forward to the physical reopening, since there's so much learning that awaits us outside the classroom," says Agastya.

Through student-led societies and projects, Agastya has been able to accommodate all his interests ranging from and to . He is a member of the dance society Raqs; fashion society, Allure; and The Peel Wheel project which focuses on sustainable packaging.

“JGU offers opportunities to explore and excel in any field through structured support. Most of all, the culture rewards and helps you grow, invariably,” says a content Agastya.

Sharanya Balasubramanian, a first year student pursuing B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from Jindal School of Government & Public Policy, at the Australian Open Qualifiers!

“I came across a golden opportunity to become a and a member for the Australian Open Women Qualifiers that took place in Dubai (where I live) from 10th-13th January 2021. Never in history has a qualifying tournament of a Slam been held at a location outside the host city.

Being a ball kid was always on my bucket list I but could never do it as the tennis season here was also my exam season. This was a perfect first! But there was a catch. Training to be a ball kid normally took 3 months. But I only had 5 days!

To top it off, according to COVID protocol, it was mandatory to wear masks while on courts that could only work on half the capacity. With 4 hours of intense training for 5 days and a grueling selection process, I made the cut.

It was an incredible experience. Watching the finest contenders play their best game from a seat that no amount of money can buy was a surreal feeling.

We witnessed the whole package, moments of pride, satisfaction, disappointment, hope, and for few split seconds, the fire in the player’s eyes, ignited by their hunger to succeed. Being a part of this rollercoaster of highs and lows, you come to realize that the difference between being good and being great comes down to one’s mindset,” said Sharanya
