The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 1996 to explore the hidden potential of serene Himalayas, which is, also rich in valuable medicinal herbs. The degree course in Pharmacy was introduced keeping in view its vast scope encompassing Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Administration, Academics, Product Management, Marketing and Research and D
evelopment and to explore the herbal wealth of the Himalayan region. Its main building is situated in the heart of the main campus. The serene and aesthetic beauty of Himalayas coupled with clean and pollution free environment help students imbibe the basics of Pharmacy in the best possible way. The Department holds the honor of being the first Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) in Uttaranchal apart from being approved by AICTE as well. A sizable number of students of department have qualified GATE examination securing high percentile. In the year 2009 as many as 12 students have qualified GATE. The students of all the batches have excelled in the field of pharmacy and allied areas. They have been selected for pursuing Master’s Degree in Pharmacy and other allied subjects viz. Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Management etc in the institutes of national and international repute. The alumni of the department are well placed in pharmaceutical and allied industries like Food and Drug Administration, Academia, Research Organizations, Regulatory affairs, Community Pharmacy etc.
