Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition - Srinagar generally known as IHM Srinagar was established in 1982 as 5th Hotel Management Institute of country. With over 2 decades of setting trends in providing quality education, focused upon recent developments, innovations, professionalism, to all those students who wanted to have a professional degree, more than just usual qualification to enter the global competitive hospitality field. The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Srinagar organised a Painting Competition on 22 September 2026 as part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva and Swachhta Pakhwada campaign.
The competition aimed to create awareness among students about cleanliness, hygiene, environmental protection, waste management and the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy society. Students participated enthusiastically and expressed their ideas and creativity through meaningful paintings based on the theme of cleanliness.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talent while reinforcing the message of “Swachhata Hi Seva” and encouraging them to adopt cleanliness as a personal and social responsibility.
The event concluded with appreciation for the active participation and creative efforts of all the students.

Institute of Hotel Management, Srinagar kick-started the first week of Swachhta Pakhwada and Swachhata Hi Seva with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members.

The initiative witnessed a strong sense of collective responsibility, with students and faculty coming together to undertake cleanliness and sanitation activities across the institute premises. The drive aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene, environmental responsibility, and the spirit of Shramdaan among the IHM community.

The enthusiastic participation reflected the institute’s continued commitment towards fostering a clean, hygienic, and sustainable campus while encouraging students to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of cleanliness.

Union Secretary Tourism Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, IAS Visits IHM Srinagar.
IHM Srinagar had the honour of welcoming Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, on 7 September 2026.
During his visit, Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar interacted with students and faculty, toured the Institute’s facilities and took keen interest in the academic and practical training initiatives at IHM Srinagar.
He appreciated the Institute’s efforts towards quality hospitality education, skill development and industry-oriented training, and encouraged students to strive for excellence and professionalism.
The visit was an inspiring and motivating experience for the entire IHM Srinagar family.

आईएचएम श्रीनगर को भारत सरकार के पर्यटन मंत्रालय के सचिव श्री भुवनेश कुमार, आईएएस का 7 सितंबर 2026 को संस्थान में स्वागत करने का गौरव प्राप्त हुआ।
अपने दौरे के दौरान श्री भुवनेश कुमार ने छात्रों एवं संकाय सदस्यों के साथ संवाद किया, संस्थान की विभिन्न सुविधाओं का अवलोकन किया तथा आईएचएम श्रीनगर में संचालित शैक्षणिक एवं व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण गतिविधियों में गहरी रुचि दिखाई।
