IN PICTURES: A National Conclave on “Reimagining Veterinary Education for Viksit Bharat@2047” held on from June 6–7, 2026, at the Main Campus of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir Shalimar, Srinagar, as a quadripartite initiative of SKUAST-K, Bihar Animal Sciences University, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, and National Academy of Veterinary Sciences.
Conceived as a follow-up to multi-stakeholder deliberations on the future of veterinary education, the conclave will bring together academic leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and other stakeholders to draft a New Veterinary Education Model for India that is nationally responsive, globally aligned, and future-ready.
The two-day event will feature expert talks by national and international academicians, brainstorming sessions on “Globalising Veterinary Education for Viksit Bharat 2047,” plenary discussions for policy recommendations, industry–academia interactions to address skill gaps, an invited lecture by a Padma Shri awardee, the launch of the SKUAST-K Declaration, and a campus tour.
The conclave aims to produce a comprehensive framework document for a New Veterinary Education Model for India@2047, contributing to the nation’s vision of a developed India by 2047. The event is being coordinated by Aijaz Ahmad Dar and Pervaiz Ahmad Dar.
