Students of NIT Srinagar, including NSS volunteers and NCC cadets, under the coordination of NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav and NCC Coordinator Lt. (Dr.) Nitika Kundan, joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Nasha Mukt Viksit Bharat Abhiyan by taking an anti-drug pledge, participating in a campus-wide awareness rally, and watching the Prime Minister's live address. Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Atikur Rehman urged students to become ambassadors of a drug-free India, emphasizing the role of youth in building a healthy and developed nation. The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to spreading awareness against substance abuse through NSS, NCC and Student Gymkhana activities, reinforcing the institute's resolve to promote a drug-free campus and society.

Dr. Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh, IAS, Director, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, visited the Greenovator Incubation Foundation at NIT Srinagar to interact with startups, review incubation facilities, and encourage technology-driven entrepreneurship.

Two girl NCC cadets from NIT Srinagar were felicitated by the Governor of Bihar, Lt. Gen. Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.), during a special interaction focused on leadership, nation-building, and personal development.
The Governor shared inspiring insights from his four decades of service in Kashmir, highlighting the importance of discipline, continuous self-improvement, integrity, and the vital role of youth in nation-building. NIT Srinagar’s Greenovator Incubation Foundation (GIF) has signed an MoU with NIELIT Leh to strengthen the innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup ecosystem across Leh, Ladakh, and adjoining regions. 🚀

The partnership will provide incubation support, mentorship, business advisory services, industry linkages, and funding access for innovators, startups, and student entrepreneurs.

Together, GIF and NIELIT Leh will organize boot camps, hackathons, ideathons, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs), Innovators Development Programmes (IDPs), workshops, seminars, and skill development initiatives to nurture entrepreneurial talent and promote a culture of innovation.

The collaboration will also focus on business model development, market validation, IPR facilitation, patent filing, technology commercialization, and access to incubation facilities, laboratories, and prototyping infrastructure.

By leveraging NIT Srinagar’s research expertise, alumni network, and innovation ecosystem alongside NIELIT Leh’s technical capabilities, the partnership will promote joint research, consultancy, corporate connect programmes, investor interactions, and startup showcase events.

A key objective is to develop technology-driven, context-specific solutions for the unique challenges of mountain regions while preserving Ladakh’s cultural heritage and traditional knowledge, paving the way for sustainable entrepreneurship and inclusive regional development.

🏆👑 CHAMPIONS AGAIN! NIT Srinagar Defend the Crown! 🏏💚

History has been made as NIT Srinagar successfully defends its title and clinches a record fourth All India Inter-NIT Faculty & Staff Cricket Tournament (Men) Championship with a commanding 88-run victory over NIT Puducherry in the grand finale! 🏆🔥

Batting first, the hosts posted 187/4, powered by Suhail Baba's unbeaten 64 (32)*, Aaqib Sheikh's fluent 50, and valuable contributions from skipper Faisal Irshad and Shahid Hamid.

The bowlers then produced a clinical performance, bundling out NIT Puducherry for 99. Dr. Mohsin (3/13) and Dr. Majid Hussain (3/26) led the attack, while Dr. Shakeel Waseem (2/26), Mudasir Qadir, and Shahid Hamid chipped in to complete a dominant victory.

🏏 NIT Hamirpur clinch 3rd place at the All India Inter-NIT Faculty & Staff Cricket Tournament (Men) 2026! 🥉🔥
NIT Hamirpur defeated NIT Jalandhar by 16 runs in the third-place playoff after posting 155/6 in 20 overs. Chasing 156, NIT Jalandhar fought hard but were restricted to 139/7.
⭐ Surender Soni led the charge with a valuable 39 off 28 and later starred with the ball, claiming 2/20. Manish added a crucial 36 off 24, while Aman Kumar (2/19) and Surender Soni (2/20) produced disciplined bowling performances to seal the victory.
For NIT Jalandhar, Nitin Sharma played an attacking knock of 28 off 18, but the target proved just out of reach.
