📸 Photography Workshop | Photography Club, NIT Srinagar

The Photography Club, NIT Srinagar successfully concluded its photography workshop led by Prof. S.A. Shah, with our Faculty Coordinator Dr. Sparsh Sharma also present.

It was a great learning experience and a wonderful session for the club.

A big thanks to our Student Coordinators Abhinav Kumar Upadhyay and Khairun Nissa, along with photography club members whose efforts made the event a success.

📢 NIT Srinagar Hosts Expert Talk on Advanced Fibre-Reinforced Polymer Composites!

The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, NIT Srinagar, in association with Dhaatu Mitra – The Metallurgy Club, organised an expert talk on “Advanced Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composites for Structural Applications.”
The session was delivered by Dr. R. T. Durai Prabhakaran, Professor and Dean (Research & Consultancy), IIT Jammu, who shared insights into advanced composite materials, sustainable material reuse, manufacturing techniques, and structural applications.
Under the patronage of Prof. Anurag Mishra, Director, NIT Srinagar, the programme promoted research awareness, innovation, and academic collaboration. A practical demonstration of compression testing and an interactive Q&A session further enriched students’ understanding of composite materials and their applications. 🔬⚙️

The Institution of Engineers (India), Tuticorin Local Centre, proudly honoured Dr. Dinesh Kumar Rajendran, Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, with the prestigious IEI-TLC Innovation Award for Eminent Young Engineer during the 59th Engineers’ Day Celebrations on 29 September 2026 at GRACE College of Engineering, Tuticorin.

👏 The recognition celebrates his contributions to R&D innovation, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), drone technology, underwater welding, additive manufacturing, operations research, and optimization.
🌟 This achievement reflects a commitment to innovation, research, and technological advancement, bringing pride to NIT Srinagar.

🌿🧹 SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2026 | NIT SRINAGAR 🧹🌿
Cleanliness is not just a responsibility; it is a collective commitment towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier tomorrow! 🌱✨

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar organised a campus-wide cleanliness drive under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, bringing together the institute administration, faculty, staff, students, NSS and NCC volunteers, security personnel, and sanitation workers in a shared mission for cleanliness. 🤝
The programme commenced with the Swachhata pledge, followed by an awareness march and a campus-wide cleanliness drive to promote environmental responsibility and responsible civic practices. ♻️🌍

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Anurag Misra, encouraged participants to sustain these efforts and highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and hygienic campus.
Together, let’s turn cleanliness into a habit and make every space cleaner, greener, and healthier! 💚

The Amphitheatre came alive with the beautiful melodies of music, soulful shayari, and the warmth of togetherness! 🌙🎤
From solo singing and heartfelt poetry to the joy of group singing, Suron Ki Shaam brought everyone together to celebrate talent, creativity, and the magic of music. 🎶📝
With no stage pressure and no formalities, it was all about sharing voices, expressing emotions, and creating unforgettable memories. 🫶🏻✨
A heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated and made the evening special, and to the student organisers for bringing this beautiful musical gathering to life.

NIT Srinagar at Indian Youth Parliament 2026 | Jaipur

A delegation from NIT Srinagar visited Jaipur from 15th–17th September 2026 to participate in the Indian Youth Parliament 2026, engaging in meaningful discussions on youth leadership, democracy, and nation-building.

The delegation was accompanied by Faculty In-Charge Dr. Ashok Kumar and comprised Abhiraj Das, Janvi Sharma, Lucky, Khushi Arora, Arnav Pal, Shashwat Shandilya, and Muhammad Husaaini.
The students engaged in meaningful discussions and dialogue with 500+ other delegates from 26 states of India.
The visit provided an enriching platform for our students to exchange ideas, voice perspectives, and experience the spirit of parliamentary dialogue.

🏭 Industrial Visit to JSW Pulwama

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Srinagar, organised an industrial visit to JSW Pulwama on 26 September 2026 for the 2024–2028 batch.

Students gained valuable practical exposure to colour-coated steel manufacturing, production processes, quality control, industrial machinery, and safety practices.

A meaningful experience connecting classroom learning with real-world industrial applications. ⚙️

We sincerely thank the JSW Pulwama team, faculty members, and student coordinators for making the visit successful.

As part of Hindi Pakhwada 2026, NIT Srinagar organised a series of academic and practical activities on Friday to promote the effective use of Rajbhasha in official and academic work.

Dr. Anshuman Singh, Assistant Professor and HoD (Hindi), B.P.G. College, Jaunpur, was the resource person for the programme. He delivered a lecture on “Hindi in e-Office: Practical Training on Noting and Drafting”, focusing on Hindi noting and drafting, effective official writing, and official communication through the e-Office system. Dr Jitendra Gurjar and Dr Mohd Ansari were the coordinators of the event.

🔩 Seminar on “Latest Developments and Standardization in the Field of Welding” ⚙️

The National Institute of Technology Srinagar, in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), successfully hosted a seminar focused on the latest developments, quality assurance, and standardization practices in the field of welding.

The seminar featured insightful sessions on BIS standards and processes, advances in welding technology, quality assurance and industrial practices, standardization of pressure vessel welding, and the strategic importance of welding standards in India.

The event brought together experts and academicians, including Vishal Kumar Rana, Scientist-C, BIS; Dr. Deepak Kumar Naik, Assistant Professor, NIT Srinagar; and Dr. Dinesh Wasudeo Rathod, Assistant Professor, NIT Kurukshetra, along with the leadership and faculty of NIT Srinagar.

Hindi Pakhwada celebrations continue at NIT Srinagar with active participation from faculty, staff and students. The celebrations feature a series of competitions and activities aimed at promoting the use of Rajbhasha Hindi in official communication and encouraging greater linguistic participation across the Institute.
