As part of Alumni Month, SSM College of Engineering proudly welcomed its accomplished alumni, Er. Shahid Masoodi and Er. Ishtiaq Qureshi (Civil Engineering), currently serving as Assistant Engineers in the PWD (R&B) Department, J&K.
Returning to their alma mater after nearly two decades, they reflected on how SSM's academic excellence, dedicated mentorship, and practical learning shaped their professional journeys. Zahoor Ahmad Lone , a proud alumnus of the 2008 batch Electronic n communication is the Director of ZOON Engineering traders, a leading engineering and company based in Srinagar. He leads a team of over 40 professionals, delivering projects in Civil construction, MEP, firefighting, and industrial engineering across Jammu & Kashmir.
Er. Zahoor visited the college with the primary objective of recruiting talented engineering graduates for placement opportunities at ZOON Engineering. The Department of Civil Engineering at SSM College of Engineering was delighted to welcome its distinguished alumna, Er. Insha Gundroo, Assistant Engineer, JKPWD, from the 2003 Diploma Batch, for an inspiring interaction with our students.
Returning to the institution where her engineering journey began, Er. Insha shared her professional experiences, valuable industry insights, and words of encouragement with aspiring engineers.
A particularly heartening moment was her continued faith in her alma mater by choosing SSM College of Engineering for her daughter's higher education. SSM's Taekwondo contingent brought immense pride to the institution, with Mohammad Nail, Immad Manzoor, Mahfooz, Rasik Reyaz, Faheem Firdous, Sheikh Faizan, Athar Ahad, Hafiz Bazaz, Zaidan Ali, Fazil Altaf, Rabiya, and Anjum winning Gold Medals, while Mohammad Zaid and Mursil Draboo secured Silver Medals.
The ceremony also celebrated the success of SSM NCC cadets, who secured 3rd Position in the CATC Inter-Institutional Drill Competition. Abuzar Showkat, Aamir Gul, Soman Sabeel, and Arbaz Ahad Malik were selected for the Pre-RDC Camp, while Arbaz Ahad Malik was honoured with the Best Cadet Award. In a proud gesture, the cadets handed over their trophies to the college through ANO Er. Syed Kaiser.
Adding to the spirit of appreciation, the college also felicitated dedicated student volunteers and President Students Council, Mohammad Meeran Qureshi, for their tireless efforts, commitment, and invaluable contribution to the successful organization of the championship.
The achievements celebrated today reflect the culture of excellence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership that defines SSM College of Engineering. As the championship concluded on a high note, it left behind a legacy of inspiration, determination, and pride for the entire SSM fraternity.
