The Departments of Accountancy and Economics of Jyoti Dalal School of Commerce & Management, VVWU, successfully organized an expert session on the Union Budget 2025 on Monday, February 24, 2025.

The session featured CA Nilesh Vasa, a Senior Advisor at E&Y LLP, who has also been appointed as a Professor of Practice in JDSCM by VVWU, as the distinguished resource person.

Throughout the session, CA Nilesh Vasa delved into the economic aspects of the budget and provided a concise overview of the key highlights of Union Budget 2025. Additionally, he shared valuable insights into career prospects within Chartered Accountant firms.

An engaging online quiz on Budget Trivia was conducted, where students participated with great enthusiasm. As a token of encouragement, CA Nilesh Vasa distributed goodies to the winners.

The entire session was interactive and truly enriching, attended by nearly 250 students from T.Y.B.Com and M.Com.

The session was further honoured by the esteemed presence of Shri Kriplani T. Desai, Honourable President of the Board of Management, VVWU and Chairman of Vanita Vishram, Surat; Shri Pravin T. Vora, Honourable Vice-President of the Board of Management of VVWU and Vice-Chairman of Vanita Vishram, Surat; Dr. Daxesh Thakar, Honourable Provost of VVWU.

The session was meticulously planned under the guidance of Hon. Provost Dr. Daxesh Thakar and Registrar Dr. R. D. Patel. The event was executed with the diligent support of Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal, HoD-Accountancy and Dean of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, and Dr. Sangeeta Srivastava, HoD-Economics. It was effectively coordinated by Dr. Ghanshyam Bhomachiya, Ms. Mahernaz Patel, and Ms. Anmol Jadav.

We are pleased to announce that the second convocation of Vanita Vishram Women's University (VVWU) - First and only Women's University of Gujarat , managed by Vanita Vishram, Surat, was successfully held on January 8, 2025, at the Bajigauri Open Air Theatre, Vanita Vishram, Surat.

A total of 1,349 students were awarded degrees, and 21 toppers were felicitated with gold medals by the chief guest, Shri P. K. Laheri. In his convocation address, Shri P. K. Laheri emphasized that women should not confine themselves to household chores. Today’s women are equal contributors to the development and growth of the economy and science. He congratulated the Vanita Vishram management for its endeavors in empowering women.

The event concluded successfully with the national anthem.

The NCC Unit of JDSCM, VVWU is proud to announce that our cadets successfully completed the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and Rajasthan Trekking Camps held in Ujjain and Ajmer respectively.

JUO Neha Mohite and CDT Dipti Gupta participated in the Rajasthan Trekking Camp and secured first position in Group Dance and second position in Tug of War events.

CDT Priyal Vadoliya and CDT Devanshi Rana participated in the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp and represented the cultural heritage of Gujarat.

Department of Management Studies, Jyoti Dalal School of Commerce and Management Studies organized an Expert talk for all the students of M.B.A. and B.B.A. (HR Specialisation) on Importance of Collaboration between Academics and Industry, on 13th December, 2024 by Dr. Indu Rao. She is an experienced academician with national and international exposure in academics and industry as well.

Approximately, 125 students attended the session.
The speaker explained the students regarding various aspects like bridging the gap between academics and industry and importance of research. She also discussed the importance of collaboration between academics and industry through her journey in her career as she possesses the experience in academics and industry as well. During the interacting session with students, she also briefed them about work-life balance, stereotype of society for working women, focus on goal etc.

The session was organized under the guidance of our Hon'ble Provost - Dr. Daxesh Thakar, Registrar- Dr. R.D. Patel, Dean of Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies-Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal, and H.o.D. of Department of Management Studies- Dr. Bosky A. Suratwala.
It was well coordinated by Dr. Ashwin Santoki-Assistant Professors and Ms. Shanu Desai-Teaching Assistant, Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

The Department of Commerce, JYOTI DALAL SCHOOL OF COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT has organized "one day training session on Health Insurance" in collaboration with Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd. on 2.12.2024 (Monday).

Mr. Bimal Desai, Sr.Training Manager at Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd. conducted an engaging session on Health Insurance for the B.Com. students where around 50 students participated.

In this session, students learned about multiple Health Insurance concepts and were prepared for IC- 38 EXAMS. Various techniques were taught to crack the IRDAI based IC- 38 exams.

The session was organized under the guidance of our Hon'ble Provost - Dr. Daxesh Thakar, Dean of faculty of Commerce and Management studies - Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal and HoD of Commerce - Dr. Nanda Bothra.

It was well coordinated by Ms. Asma Nakhuda, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, JDSCM.
