ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਦਿਵਸ
ਅੱਜ ਮਿਤੀ 12 ਅਗਸਤ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਰਹਾਲੀ, ਤਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਰੈਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ । ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ,ਐਨ .ਐਸ. ਐਸ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਤੇ ਐਨ .ਸੀ .ਸੀ ਕੈਡੇਟ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੈਡਮ ਜੈਦੀਪ ( ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ) ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਏ ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੂਥ ਦਿਵਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਦਿਵਸ 12 ਅਗਸਤ 2000 ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ।ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਦਿਵਸ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 12 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯੂਥ ਦਿਵਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ 'ਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹੈ। ਯੂਥ ਦਿਵਸ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਯੁਵਾ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਖਿੱਚਣਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸ: ਬਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਐਨ .ਐਸ. ਐਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੁਵਾ ਵਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ । ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਨ. ਸੀ. ਸੀ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਸ: ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਏ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਯੁਵਾ ਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ । ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਮੁਕਾਬਲ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੀ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ । ਯੁਵਕ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ: ਕੰਵਲਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ,ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ: ਜਸਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਇਆ।

ਸਰਹਾਲੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੌਣਕਾਂ

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ, ਲੋਕ-ਵਿਰਸੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਸੁਮੇਲ

ਸਰਹਾਲੀ, 8 ਅਗਸਤ: ਸਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ-ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ, ਉਮੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਸਾਵਣ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਸੁਗੰਧਿਤ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਸਰਹਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਬੜੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਜੋਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਰਿਸਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ-ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੰਗ-ਬਰੰਗੀਆਂ ਝਲਕੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਹਾਸੇ, ਖੇੜੇ, ਗਿੱਧੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਲਾਂ, ਲੋਕ-ਗੀਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੁਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਵਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਇਆ।

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਰੰਗ-ਬਰੰਗੇ ਸੂਟ, ਫੁਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ, ਪਰਾਂਦੇ, ਚੂੜੀਆਂ, ਟਿੱਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰਿਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮ-ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਗਿੱਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ-ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਰਿਹਾ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਠਾਸ, ਸਾਵਣ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵੰਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਢੋਲ ਦੀ ਥਾਪ ’ਤੇ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਗਿੱਧੇ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਮਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਾਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੂੰਜ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੌਸਲਾ-ਅਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਰਵਾਇਤ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਂਘਾਂ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਵਣ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ-ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਝੂਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ। ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਖਿੱਚ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ਲਿਆ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਲਗਵਾਈ, ਜੋ ਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਦਾ ਅਟੁੱਟ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ। ਚਰਖਾ, ਮਧਾਣੀ, ਛੱਜ, ਟੋਕਰੀਆਂ, ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ, ਫੁਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਸਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ-ਪਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ। ਘਰੇਲੂ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਪਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਰਸੋਈ ਦੀ ਅਮੀਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਿਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕ

A distt. level Advocacy Meeting of Red Ribbon Club was organised at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali by Youth services department to create awareness among students about HIV/AIDS prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and the importance of responsible behaviour. The programme aimed to sensitize students and encourage them to become responsible advocates for health and social awareness.

The meeting began with a welcome address by the faculty coordinator Dr. Kanwalpreet Kaur of the Red Ribbon Club, who highlighted the role of young people in spreading awareness and eliminating misconceptions related to HIV/AIDS. The resource person Dy. Director Distt Youth Services Tarn Taran Sh. Preet Kohli elaborated on the causes, modes of transmission, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Special emphasis was laid on avoiding stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

Students actively participated in the interaction and raised questions related to HIV prevention, testing, treatment and healthy practices. The resource person addressed their queries and encouraged them to share correct information with their peers, families and communities.

The meeting also focused on the importance of safe and healthy practices, regular health check-ups, empathy, confidentiality and social responsibility. Students were encouraged to become ambassadors of awareness and contribute towards building an informed and stigma-free society. Along with this fund were also released and cheques distributed to member institutes by Sh. Kohli for carrying on activities in their respective institutes.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person, college authorities, faculty members and students for their active participation. The advocacy meeting proved to be an informative and meaningful initiative of the Red Ribbon Club towards promoting health awareness and social responsibility among the youth.

International Commerce Day Celebrated at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali

The Department of Commerce of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali, celebrated International Commerce Day with great enthusiasm to highlight the importance of commerce, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy in today’s global economy.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Head of the Department, Dr Summi Arora who emphasized the vital role of commerce in economic growth and sustainable development. This was followed by an orientation lecture delivered by Ms Harpreet Kaur, who guided the students about academic opportunities in the field of commerce, career prospects, and the importance of skill development in the modern business environment. She encouraged students to stay focused, disciplined, and proactive in building a strong professional foundation.

Faculty members further motivated students to develop entrepreneurial skills, financial awareness, and innovative thinking to meet the challenges of the modern business world.

On the occasion, students actively participated in activities such as group discussions, and poster-making competitions based on contemporary commerce and business themes. The events provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and communication skills.

The Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the P G Department of Commerce for organizing such a meaningful programme. Addressing the gathering, the Principal motivated students to remain committed to academic excellence, ethical business practices, and lifelong learning in order to become responsible professionals and entrepreneurs.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of faculty members, the organizing committee, and the enthusiastic participation of the students, making the celebration a grand success.
