*Pharmaconnect’26, International Conference, Emerging Trends in Pharmacology and Biomedical Research*

Thiruvananthapuram, 18 August 2026: The Department of Pharmacology, The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre (Autonomous), Thiruvananthapuram, organised Pharmaconnect’26, international conference aimed at promoting scientific learning, research interaction and professional networking among students, faculty members and researchers. The programme was held at the College Conference Hall from 9:00 AM onwards.
The programme commenced with registration, followed by prayer and the welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Shiji Kumar P. S., Principal, The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre. Prof. Dr. Jayachandran Nair C. V., HoD, Department of Pharmacology, introduced the seminar and highlighted its academic significance. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Deena Das C. S., Chairperson, The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre.

The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Dr. G. Mohandas Nair, Advisor and Chairman, Governing Council, The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre, and President, Kerala Academy of Sciences. Dr. Sarath Lal K. C., Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, delivered the vote of thanks.

The scientific sessions featured distinguished experts from academia and research institutions. Prof. Dr. G. Mohandas Nair delivered the first session on “Molecule to Medicine: Drug Discovery & Development.” The second session, presented by Dr. Hanish Singh, Associate Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy, University Technology MARA, Malaysia, focused on “Translational Drug Screening in Experimental Models of Alzheimer’s Type of Neurodegeneration.”
The subsequent sessions addressed important aspects of biomedical and animal research. Dr. Sachin Shenoy, Scientist 'G', SCTIMST, Thiruvananthapuram, spoke on “Animals in Research.” Dr. Sreejith Parameswara Panicker, Assistant Professor, University of Kerala, discussed “Clinical Animal Models in Biomedical Research.” The session on “Legal Requirements for Animal Experiments” was delivered by Dr. K. R. Chandramohanan Nair, Chairman, Institutional Ethics Committee and Former Senior Scientific Officer, Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram.

The programme also included a networking lunch, panel discussion and valedictory function, providing opportunities for academic interaction and exchange of ideas among participants.
Pharmaconnect’26 served as a valuable platform for connecting students, academicians and researchers and for fostering greater awareness of contemporary developments in pharmacology, drug discovery, neurodegenerative disease research and ethical biomedical research.

The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated at The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre (Autonomous) on 15 August 2026 at 8:30 a.m. with great patriotic enthusiasm and active participation of students, faculty members, non-teaching staff and NSS volunteers.
The programme commenced with flag hoisting, followed by a patriotic song. Principal Dr. Shijikumar P. S. addressed the gathering and highlighted the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the responsibilities of the younger generation in nation-building. Vice Principal Dr. Seena H. and Dean Academics Dr. Anilkumar delivered inspiring Independence Day messages emphasizing patriotism, unity, discipline, education and social responsibility. Members of the non-teaching staff also conveyed their wishes and shared messages on national unity and service.
The celebration continued with enthusiastic participation by the students and NSS volunteers. Sweet distribution was conducted as part of the programme. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the NSS Programme Officer, expressing gratitude to the management, Principal, Vice Principal, Dean Academics, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students and NSS volunteers for their support and participation. The programme concluded with the patriotic spirit of “Jai Hind” and “Vande Mataram.”

The 2nd Year D.Pharm students of The Dale View College of Pharmacy & Research Centre visited Pran Hospital, Anayara on 22/07/2026 as part of their academic and clinical exposure programme. A total of 37 students participated in the visit under the guidance of Mrs. Reshma K. J., Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics.

The students were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Anju, Quality Management Head, who provided an informative session on the hospital's infrastructure, quality management system, patient care services, and various hospital activities. The visit offered valuable insights into hospital operations, healthcare quality standards, and the vital role of pharmacists in ensuring safe and effective patient care.

The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre (Autonomous) observed the 11th death anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 27 July 2026, paying tribute to the former President of India and the Missile Man of India. The programme commemorated the life, vision, and invaluable contributions of Dr. Kalam, whose inspiring words and dedication to education, science, and nation-building continue to motivate generations of students.
As part of the observance, the college organized a visit to the Kalam Museum to help students learn more about his life and achievements. A floral tribute was also offered in his memory, where faculty and students paid their respects and reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward Dr. Kalam's ideals of knowledge, innovation, and service to society.

The AIWC (All India Womens Conference) Youth Wing (Constituent Branch of Samyuktha) was inaugurated on 27th July 2026 at the Kalam Smrithi International Auditorium, The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre (Autonomous), as part of the AIWC Centenary Celebrations.

The programme began with a welcome address by Ms. Theertha Raj, Sixth Semester student. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Deena Das C. S., Chairperson, and the Youth Wing was officially inaugurated by Dr. K. G. Vijayalekshmy, Zonal Organiser, South Zone B, All India Women's Conference.

In her inaugural address, she encouraged young women to become confident leaders committed to social service and community development.

The programme was felicitated by Dr. Shijikumar P. S., Principal, who appreciated the initiative and motivated students to actively participate in the Youth Wing's activities.

🎓 The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre proudly celebrated its 20th International Graduation Ceremony!

On 15th July 2026, a day filled with pride, achievement, and inspiration as we celebrated the success of our graduates in the esteemed presence of distinguished national and international dignitaries.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary General & Chief Executive Officer, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India. We were honoured by the presence of H.E. Hambyrajen Narsinghen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Mauritius, as Guest of Honour, along with H.E. Dharamkumar Seeraj, High Commissioner of the Republic of Guyana to India, H.E. Sinisa Pavic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Karlito Nunes, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, and H.E. Hanisha Jairam, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname.
