The Department of Psychology proudly released its first ISBN book, The Art of Research and Publications in Social Sciences, on 13 August 2026.

With research papers contributed by around 40 students, this publication marks a significant milestone in the academic and research journey of the Department.

It stands as a memorable achievement, reflecting the department’s commitment to fostering research, academic excellence, and scholarly pursuits among its students.

The State Level Competition of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” was conducted at St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur. The programme was organised under the nationwide initiative of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat)

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri. Abhay Sankar SR, State Director, Mera Yuva Bharat Kerala. The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri. A. Prasad, Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Thrissur. The inauguration was carried out by Adv. O. R. Janeesh, Minister for Youth Welfare, Sports and Registration.The felicitation ceremony included Shri. S. Satheese, former Regional Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, South Zone; Shri. Sachin H, Deputy Director, Mera Yuva Bharat, Kannur.

The NSS volunteers actively supported for the successful conduct of the programme. The volunteers assisted the organisers in various arrangements and coordination activities throughout the event.

Department of Commerce (SF) of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, organized , “Commergence – One-Day National Seminar” on August 10, 2026 at Kaviprathibha Hall, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), Thrissur Chapter. The seminar focused on the theme “Market Volatility as an Opportunity”, bringing together subject experts, academicians, research scholars, and students for insightful discussions and exchange of ideas. The programme presided by Principal Dr. Fr. Martin K.A,was inaugurated by CMA Vinod T.V., Chairman, ICMAI,Thrissur Chapter.CMA Sugunan T.G., CFO, BrahMos Aerospace, Trivandrum, served as the key resource person. Sessions were conducted by Associate Professor Dr. G. John,HOD,Dept. of Commerce ,St.Joseph’s College(Autonomous),Trichy and Assistant Professor Dr. Urmila R. Menon, Christ University, Bangalore exploring various dimensions of financial and economic volatility. Papers covering diverse dimensions of the theme were presented. CMA Jeswin Johnson, Deputy Manager CSB Bank Thrissur ,secured first position, while Ardra K.S. and Nida Fathima P.K., B.Com second-year students, secured second position for their presentations. Under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Linni Wilson (H.O.D), Asst. Prof. Delma Pulikkottil D and Asst. Prof. Nimitha T.M served as faculty coordinators, while Gouri E and Ignatius Pius served as student coordinators.
