A three-day training programme on “Doubling the Farmers’ Income through Preparation and Marketing of Value-Added Meat Products” was successfully organized by Department of Livestock Products Technology, College of Veterinary Science, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati with full financial assistance of the ICAR-National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad. Dr G. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Head of the department briefed that, the participants were undergone rigorous hands on training on different value added meat products preparation like nuggets, patties, meat balls, pickle, enrobed eggs, sausages, cutlets, chicken samosa, chicken soup, chicken idlis and capsicum chicken etc., and their preservation, packaging and marketing methodologies, and economics involved and enhance their income. Dr B. Shobamani, Director of Extension and Dr P. Jagapatiramayya, Associate Dean, CVSc, Tirupati distributed certificates to the participants and also resource persons.

A three-day training programme on “Doubling the Farmers’ Income through Preparation and Marketing of Value-Added Meat Products” was inaugurated today at the Department of Livestock Products Technology, College of Veterinary Science, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati. The programme is being organized with full financial assistance of the ICAR-National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad. The inaugural session was graced by J. V. Ramana, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati, as the Chief Guest. B. Shobamani, Director of Extension, and R. V. Suresh Kumar, Dean, Veterinary Science, attended the function as Guests of Honour. The programme was presided over by P. Jagapatiramayya, Associate Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati. Dr G. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Head of the Department acted as Course Director and informed that a large number of unemployed youth, farmers and trainees from various surrounding areas of Tirupati participated in the programme, showing keen interest in learning about value addition in meat products. Dr G. Gangaraju, Dr Y Ravindra Reddy, Dr B. Rambabu Naik, Dr K. Sudheer and Dr Naveen, Dr M. Kalayana Chakravathy, Dr Tirupati Reddy and Dr B. Rangamma acted as Resource Persons of the training programme.

A team of research scientists from Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany comprising Prof. Dr. Uwe Roesler, Dean, School of Veterinary Medicine, & Director, Institute of Animal Hygiene and Environmental Health, Centre for Infection Medicine & Veterinary Centre for Resistance Research – TZR with PD Dr. Anika Friese; Prof. Dr. Thomas Alter, Dean of Studies, School of Veterinary Medicine, & Director, Institute of Food Safety and Hygiene; Prof. Dr. Robert Klopfleisch, Institute of Veterinary Pathology, School of Veterinary Medicine visited the Dept. of Veterinary Microbiology, NTR College of Veterinary Science, SVVU, Gannavaram on 27th February 2026 and discussed with Dr. P. Anand Kumar, Professor & Head about the proposed collaborative research project proposals on AMR with Freie Universitaet Berlin. During the visit, the team of German academia visited all the laboratories of Dept. of Veterinary Microbiology and complimented the infrastructure & equipment facilities in the Dept. of Vet. Microbiology. An interactive meeting between the visiting German academia and PG scholars & research scholars of different projects of the Dept. was held. Dr. M. Srivani, Associate Professor also participated during the meeting. Prof. Jayaseelan Murugaiyan of SRM University AP, who is partner of the proposed research proposal, accompanied the German academia team during the visit.

The NSS Unit, College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur conducted a Veterinary Health Camp at Korrapadu village today.A total of 40 cases related to gynaecology, medicine, and surgery were treated. Deworming and de-ticking were also carried out to improve livestock health. NSS Programme Officer Dr. D. NSS Unit – College of Veterinary Science, Proddatur- organized a Free Veterinary Camp at Devagudi village. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Sridhar Reddy, Assistant Director.
During the camp, a total of 40 cases were treated covering gynecological, medical, and surgical ailments. Deworming was also carried out for livestock. Dr. D. Indira, NSS Coordinator, along with Dr. Sudhakar, Dr. John Sudhakar, Dr. Bhargavi, Dr. Vamshi, Dr. Anjali, and NSS volunteers actively participated and contributed to the successful conduct of the camp.

Nss unit, Cvsc, Proddatur conducted blood donation🩸 camp on 19.02.26 in collaboration with Red Cross society. NSS volunteers actively participated in the camp and successfully collected a total of 89 units of blood. The program was graced by the Associate Dean, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Prasad, who appreciated the students for their noble service and commitment to society. The camp was coordinated by the NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Indira. Dr. John and Dr. Vamshi,Dr. Dilip gupta, Dr. Sreevani, Dr. Supriya Dr. Haripriya along with all teaching and non-teaching staff members, participated in the program and extended their support.
