Andhra Pradesh government under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri N.Chandrababu Naidu has a focused mission to promote use of IT and modern technology for improvement of quality in academics and administration. Keeping the above in view, Prof. A Damodaram, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SVU has taken this initiative to bring SVU at the forefront of technology enabled learning for
the students. The course material under this initiative includes a series of video lectures, audio books, textual study material and animated content, created by veteran professors and industry experts. It fulfils the current requirements of the students who seek for an alternate way of learning with modern technology. The University will provide the access to the students with a unique user ID and password. They can login to their personalised course pages on the SVU Learning Management System. The ICT enabled learning programs will enable the students to access and revise the lectures at their own frequency and convenience. SVU University will also launch its mobile interface that can be downloaded by the students on their smart phones, thereby making m-learning a reality. Students can access the full course content online as well as offline and have the option to interact with the professors via messenger on their smart phones. This will empower students from the rural and remote areas, where access to primary education is still a dream. The impact of this technology driven mission would be towards upliftment of the weaker sections of the society and providing them with a valuable opportunity in accomplishing professional goals and a better lifestyle.
