On the occasion of World AIDS Day, a special awareness seminar was organized at Government Medical College, Tonk. The objective of the program was to educate medical students and the general public about HIV prevention, modes of transmission, modern treatment options, and the importance of awareness.
The seminar was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Lokendra Sharma, who addressed the gathering and said:
“Awareness is the most effective tool in the fight against HIV/AIDS. It is the responsibility of medical students to spread accurate, scientific, and evidence-based information in society.”

During the session, Dr. Jiya-ul-Haq gave a detailed presentation on HIV transmission, prevention strategies, testing protocols, and the importance of ART therapy. He emphasized that with timely diagnosis, proper counselling, and regular treatment, an HIV-positive person can lead a normal and healthy life.
