D C School of Architecture and Design Trivandrum, promoted by D C Books is the latest capital city venture of D C KIZHEKEMURI foundation who has been a major contributor to the educational and cultural realm of Kerala for several decades. The academic philosophy of DCSAAD aims at a holistic, sustainable and integrated approach through traditional and contemporary teaching-learning practices for de

veloping the individuality & selfesteem in each student and to add values to their responsibilities as a social being. A pool of renowned faculty with years of experience, practicing architects, artists and personalities of various connected disciplines from around the world are joining us in this journey of redefining architectural education. The Kerala Architecture Festival hosted annually by DCSAAD at Trivandrum is a one of a kind event with discussions on culture, design, politics & literature, Commonly known as SPACES FEST it provides students a venue to see & experience for themselves unique design concepts, helping them expand their horizon of imagination like never before. Our campus of 2.5acres which is located with in the lush green Kinfra Film and TV park, Kazhakkoottam. It is well established with spacious studios, state of the art library, well equipped computer lab, material museum & other labs. The college has a basket ballcourt, shuttle court & gymnasium for extracurricular activities apart from an amphitheater & an FM radio with in our premises. The entrepreneurship club run by DCSMAT, Tvm, our sister concern, provides the managerial skills required for the profession.

DC School of Architecture and Design, Trivandrum, proudly announces a remarkable student achievement that reinforces the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and global design engagement.
Semester 8 students - Nachiketh Anil, Muhammad Yaseen, Ananya Binoy, Fathimathul Hannath T.M., and Amana Badishan -participated in the international design competition “Olivetti Theatre,” organized by YAC in collaboration with Manni Group. The competition invited young architects, designers, recent graduates, and students worldwide to envision the completion of the original library plan within the historic Olivetti complex in Ivrea, Italy.

The team’s design proposal has been shortlisted among the finalists, with DC School of Architecture and Design, Trivandrum emerging as the only institution from India to be included in the final list following evaluation by an eminent international jury panel.
The Semester 8 studio and competition entry were guided and mentored by Ar. Vinod C.P. and Ar. Ashish, whose mentorship played a significant role in achieving this international recognition.
This accomplishment reflects the institution’s continued dedication to fostering creativity, innovation, and professional excellence among its students on a global platform.

Pedagogy is listening to the masters !: India's leading voices in sustainable and eco friendly architecture- Ar. Satyaprakash Varanashi ( Sathya consultants Bengaluru) and Ar. Chithra Vishwanath ( Biome environmental solutions, Bengaluru) visited the DC Trivandrum campus and interacted with the students and faculty on the institution's acclaimed pedagogy and learning integrity.
While expressing the high regard for the teaching system and the quality of students works, the veteran architects have given their insights to the possible strengthening on the sides of integrating construction,site experience and structural understanding right from the foundation years.

A milestone moment in the academic endeavours of DC School of Architecture and Design Trivandrum. The pioneer urban design studio at Kolkatha-- The journey, the stories, the spatial narratives, analysis and the design- has been published as Two books and the official release of the publications has been done by Sri. E Santhosh Kumar ( Acclaimed writer- winner of Kerala Sahithya Academy Award and Vayalar Award) at the prestigious venue of Kerala Literature Festival ( KLF) 2026 , in the presence of Sri Ravi Deecee , Chief facilitator -DC School of Architecture and Design ; and Ar. Arpita Pai , Founder and partner at Purple Ink Studio.

Pedagogy at DC Trivandrum: Studio Narratives 2025: Exploring the traditional landscapes of ' Marutham' at Mylaudi - Nagercoil by documenting the timeline and stories of a community who shape the divine expressions from the raw 'Krishnashila'. The design requirements and learning objectives are a collective formulation process from the contextual exploration. The spaces proposed further for the community are envisioned as a public interface between the traditional landscapes - community's collective narratives and the traditional livelihood of stone sculpting. : ' Marutham- Shilai- Kanavu'

Cities are multilayered.

As you dwell deep into life in a city, it unearths new stories. Stories of aspiration, dream, happiness, denial, desperation, joy, politics, conflict and many more.

Kolkata, the city of joy is waiting for us to read her stories. The city once the centre of political power and social reforms revolutionised the country through art, literature, and movies.

The city ignited the younger. The voices of youth echoed through her lanes and gallies. As the generations passed, has the city changed? Is it still inspiring the youth? How the past and present collide? What does it offer for those from the past and for youth?

The studio is an inquiry to these layers- The stories of youth and past.

Studio Tales at DC Trivandrum: Every studio is a sequence from the previous learning to the visions ahead. An interface of manifesting the process--A process starting from the principles to expressions, narratives to spatial vocabulary, empathy to meaning and to the deeper architectural dialogues !--- Dialogues not just based on creative expression but rooted on contextual honesty!

A Panel discussion on the inclusive future of Kerala, The shortlisted exhibition of the STRIDE Makerspace competition and the Academic Exhibition of the DCSAAD students , A painting competition for the school students in Trivandrum were part of the programme, along with the Final Jury of the makerspace competition.
