What are the best things to do while doing
engineering in India?
[A Must Read] - College life is very much over rated
in India,
specially for new entrants. They have impractical
expectations and what not... W
ell, here's a list of what should never be missed in
those 4 years (hopefully, 4 years!)
Making it year wise:
First Year:
1. Come in like a clean slate.
2. Accept your college. (IITs are not everything, If
you're not in IIT)
3. Accept your branch. (Don't burn yourself with
regrets of that one question you did wrong in AIEEE
which could've got you computer science)
4. Make a rapport with seniors. But don't be a
slave.
5. Make some kickass friends.
6. Talk to every girl on campus on pretext of
ragging. trust me that's the best way for a
conversation starter and no girl minds it when
you're doing it on the name of ragging. (I did many
crazy things, and no one ever batted an eye).
7. Join clubs
8. Take a sport.
9. Make a girlfriend. Seriously!
10. Don't be in a long distance relationship, its not
worth it.
11. Go on a trip
12. Explore your interests
13. Participate in every damn event. It's not about
the performance, its about coming out of comfort
zone.
14. Just enjoy
Second Year:
1. Make a girlfriend, if still don't have one. (Nobody
gets a girl after second year, its a universal truth)
2. Creative Junior-senior interaction (You know
what I mean)
3. Make yourself matter in things you're into
4. Get in a hostel fight. Atleast once. 5. Find your
true calling
6. Picture yourself 5 years down the line and start
working towards it
7. Learn a bit of every branch. Not just yours. Even
the bits and jargons. Helps a lot.
8. Be favourite of atleast one professor. 9. Travel
10. Read atleast 6 books a year
11. Become a movie buff
12. Watch serials
13. Learn guitar. Girls love it.
14. Watch and follow English football leagues even
if you didn't earlier. Puts you in a different league,
trust me!
15. Send mails for internships. Try foreign
universities or companies that pay you.
16. Work on some hands on project.
Third Year:
1. Time to get serious.
2. Start preparing for the thing you want to do after
college. For real
3. Do something crazy, you're never going to forget
4. Work on public speaking
5. Identify your project. Make it big 6. Get placed.
Don't think much, its all luck anyway.
7. Networking. The thing which makes the world go
round.
8. Volunteer. (Specially if you've plans for studying
abroad)
Final Year:
1. Get a hard disk for all the "collection".
2. Make amends with everyone you had fight with.
3. Spend nights out on the spots. There are always
some spots.
4. Party
5. Even if you're placed, write exams for MBA if
you've plan to do it.
6. Work out. Have a great body. You're never going
to get more time than this year.
7. Travel to every damn place possible with your
group.
8. Come out like a boss.

Just saw a guy's pic from ethnic day. I guess the location is biotech-chemical department. He is swarmed by girls. Kudos. But why does it look like this guy has been friend-zoned by each and every single girl from the pic. :O

And yes, I'm still alive. Its just that i'm not posting all the crappy confessions i'm getting!

Never thought SIT Civil dept would be so mean....They even didnt inform by mail or by call or by sms for the graduation day.... but took Rs 1000 as fee for that event... Favouritism is to such as extent that only few localities were invited and convocation was finished off... First of all they finished our viva 1 year late which hampered our carrer lots later on this Didnt expected this from the Department of Civil engineering.
