Designing cities through the eyes of a child!
The Child Friendly Cell, Nagar Nigam- Udaipur, with support from Urban95 and the Nurturing Neighbourhoods 2.0 team, conducted a capacity building workshop for the students and faculty of MLSU College of Architecture.
The session introduced future architects to child- and caregiver-centric urban design, encouraging them to rethink public spaces to be safe, green, accessible, playful, and inclusive. Through a hands-on design exercise, students explored how pocket parks and neighbourhood spaces can better support young children (0–5 years) and their caregivers. This workshop also marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration with MLSU College of Architecture as a proposed academic partner of the Child Friendly City Cell, strengthening Udaipur’s efforts to build sustainable child-friendly infrastructure designed by trained architects and designers.
By connecting academia with real city initiatives, MLSU is enabling students to gain practical, real-world learning, preparing the next generation of architects to design more inclusive and child-friendly cities.
