𝗗𝗿. 𝗨𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗬 𝗡𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸, Professor - Pharmaceutics and Vice Principal, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), MAHE, Manipal, secured the 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 at 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, held from 6-7 May 2026 at the 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗠𝗜𝗥𝗠), 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘-𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗿𝘂.

The 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, comprising a 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and a 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 ₹𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬, was presented in recognition of her research presentation titled “𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘤𝘺 𝘛𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘮-𝘓𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘔𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦.”

The research work was carried out through an interdisciplinary and international collaboration involving the 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮; 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮; and the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲-𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘.

The study was authored by 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗧, 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗧 𝗡𝗴𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗻, 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗵𝘂 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗿 𝗛, 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸, 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗮 𝗔 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘆, 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗻 𝗗 𝗢𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘆𝗶, 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗴, and 𝗨𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗬 𝗡𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸.

This achievement highlights the importance of collaborative translational research in addressing the growing global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and reflects MCOPS’ continued commitment to impactful scientific innovation and research excellence.

𝗥𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵, Fourth Year B.Pharm student at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), MAHE, Manipal, has secured 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in the 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 (𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧) at the 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲), a three-day international conference held from 24-26 March 2026.

She presented a poster titled “𝘈𝘐–𝘊𝘙𝘐𝘚𝘗𝘙 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦-𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘋𝘎 3 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥”, under the guidance of 𝗠𝗿. The presentation highlighted innovative approaches integrating AI and CRISPR technologies to address the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through environmental surveillance and targeted intervention strategies.

This reflects the spirit of innovation, interdisciplinary research, and global outlook nurtured at MCOPS, while contributing meaningfully toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗞 𝗥𝗮𝗼, 𝗛𝗼𝗻’𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿, 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘, officially released the theme for the upcoming 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐆𝐌𝐏 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 celebrations on 13 May 2026: "𝘤𝘎𝘔𝘗 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴: 𝘌𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺".

Initiated by the 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗚𝗠𝗣, the observance of 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐆𝐌𝐏 𝐃𝐚𝐲 began on 10 October 2023 with the vision of strengthening a culture of 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 in pharmaceutical education and practice.

During the occasion, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗞 𝗥𝗮𝗼 congratulated 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸 (𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗠𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗦) and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗶 𝗞 (𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗚𝗠𝗣) and the entire team for their continued efforts towards promoting 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗴𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘, also released the latest edition of the newsletter 𝐜𝐆𝐌𝐏 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓 (𝐕𝐨𝐥. 𝟑, 𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞 𝟏) and appreciated the Centre’s initiatives in inculcating a strong quality culture among pharmacy graduates.

The occasion also marked a moment of congratulations and honour for 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗞 𝗥𝗮𝗼 on assuming the office of Vice Chancellor, 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘, in the presence of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗴𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗶 𝗞 (Coordinator, Centre for cGMP), and the co-coordinators of the Centre.

Thirty-eight years ago, I walked into my first operating theatre with no guarantee of what the next hour would bring. You learn quickly that certainty is a luxury. What you cultivate instead is judgment — and the courage to act on it. I carry that with me now, as I step into the role of Vice Chancellor at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, over a week ago.

There is something humbling about leading an institution you once studied in. I sat in these classrooms. Grew here — Grew here — as a clinician, then as a teacher, and later as Dean of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. This place is woven into me in ways no appointment letter could capture. I am not here to reinvent. I am here to listen, build on what is strong, and move with purpose toward what MAHE is still capable of becoming. But I do come with convictions. Here are three I will not set aside

𝐎𝐧𝐞: We are past the era of slow, comfortable growth. The disciplines that will define the next decade — at the intersection of health sciences, engineering, and the humanities — don't wait for institutions to catch up. We either lead, or we follow. At MAHE, I intend to lead.

𝐓𝐰𝐨: A university is only as alive as its students. Not their grades. Them. Their restlessness, their ambitions, the small crises that nobody talks about and the big ideas that never get a room. We will build spaces — physical and otherwise — where all of that has somewhere to go.

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞: Faculty are not staff. They are the intellectual spine of everything we do. My job is to get out of their way, and to make sure the conditions are right for them to do the work only they can do.

As a surgeon, I was taught that a steady hand and a clear eye are not opposites of speed — they are the conditions for it. That's the kind of leadership I want to bring here.

MAHE has earned its place. Now let's do something worthy of it. I'm glad to be here.

This achievement places MAHE among 929 universities across 36 countries and territories, reflecting its continued commitment to academic excellence, research, and global engagement.

MAHE’s consistent presence among Asia’s leading institutions contributes to strengthening India’s position on the global higher education landscape.

𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗶 𝗞, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics & Coordinator for Centre for cGMP and Corporate Relations, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), MAHE, delivered a 𝐤𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 on “𝘤𝘎𝘔𝘗 & 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦: 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘴” during the recently held 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 that was scheduled from 1st to 3rd May 2026 at 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh.

This exclusive session titled as “𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 – 𝘖𝘱𝘌𝘹 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮” was organized for a select group of senior stakeholders, including CXOs, Supply Chain Heads, and Pharmacy Heads from leading Corporate Hospital chains from across India.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶 introduced Dr. Girish Pai to the audience. The session was attended by about 20 invited delegates from across India. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗵𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝘆, Vice President – Sales and Marketing honored Dr. Pai.

Mankind’s facility visits to Unit III, an USFDA approved facility was facilitated by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗩𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝗞𝗼𝘂𝗹, Associate Vice President – Plant Operations, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗵, Vice President – Quality and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, AGM – Plant HR Head. During the visit, delegates were provided with insights into manufacturing processes, Quality Control practices and cGMP Compliance along with meaningful interactions with the Mankind team and fellow participants.
