Established in 1963, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a constitu Post Baccalaureate and Ph.D. programmes.

Established in 1963, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) offers D.Pharm., B.Pharm., M.Pharm., Pharm.D., Pharm.D. The hospital pharmacy manufacturing unit and pharmacies of the Kasturba Hospital provide practical training to students. Practical training in manufacturing pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, perfumes and cosmetics museum and a medicinal garden is provided to the students. A bi

oavailability study centre and placement cell are some of the other facilities offered by the institution. Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences has research labs for pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical marketing and administration, pharmacology, pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical quality assurance and pharmaceutical biotechnology. In the last 40 years, more than 1500 research papers have been published and presented at various national and international conferences. The college has received research grants from CSIR, DST, ICMR, UGC, AICTE, DBT, DAE and pharmaceutical industries.

🎊 Hearty Congratulations to 𝗗𝗿. 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸 on his appointment as Head of the Department of Pharmacology, effective 23rd June 2026.

Dr. Yogendra Nayak has taken over the charge of 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 from 𝗗𝗿. 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, who has recently assumed the role of 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗦.

An accomplished academician, researcher, and mentor, Dr. Nayak has made significant contributions to MCOPS since 2005. His work in pharmacology education, research methodology, scientometrics, scholar mentoring, and academic leadership has greatly strengthened the institution’s teaching and research ecosystem.

Dr. Yogendra Nayak has authored 103 Scopus-indexed publications and holds an H-index of 26. He has successfully guided numerous postgraduate and PhD scholars. He has also conducted several research-oriented academic sessions, empowering PG and PhD students with advanced research skills and scientific insights.

MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal is pleased to share that Dr. K. Nandakumar, Vice Principal, MCOPS, and Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, delivered a keynote address at the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Comprehending the New Syllabus of B.Pharm: Curriculum, Pedagogy and Outcomes” organized by Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, on 6 June 2026.

Dr. Nandakumar delivered a keynote lecture titled “Bridging the Transition: Key Differences between the Current and New PCI Regulations and Curriculum,” providing a comprehensive overview of the revised Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) curriculum framework for the B.Pharm programme.

The FDP witnessed active participation from pharmacy educators and academic leaders, fostering discussions on strengthening pharmacy education and facilitating a smooth transition to the revised PCI curriculum.

During the event, Dr. Nandakumar was felicitated by the organizers in recognition of his contributions to pharmacy education and curriculum development. He also participated in the release of the book “Competency-Based Education for Health Professionals,” highlighting contemporary approaches to competency-driven healthcare education.

📢 Registration Open | Two-Day Workshop on the GRADE Approach

The Centre for Toxicovigilance and Drug Safety, Department of Pharmacy Practice, MCOPS, MAHE, is pleased to announce a Two-Day On-site Workshop on the GRADE Approach, to be held on 08–09 July 2026 at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal.

As a continuation of the capacity-building initiatives in evidence synthesis following the Systematic Review and Meta-analysis training programme, this workshop will provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in applying the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) approach for assessing certainty of evidence and developing evidence-based recommendations.

The programme will feature expert-led lectures, interactive discussions, and practical sessions designed to strengthen competencies in evidence-based healthcare and clinical guideline development.

MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal is pleased to welcome Dr. Priyanka Guha as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice.

Dr. Guha completed her Ph.D. from NIPER Hajipur, with research focused on the therapeutic outcomes of tuberculosis treatment. Her expertise spans proteomics, gene expression studies, patient-reported outcomes, and clinical outcome research, reflecting a strong commitment to translational and patient-centered healthcare research.

The Pharmacy Literacy Club (PLC), under the Centre for Public Health Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal, successfully organized a Study Abroad Webinar on 23 May 2026 via Microsoft Teams.

The session was delivered by Dr. Aromal S. B. (Pharm.D), Founder of Dr. Aromal’s IELTS Academy, who shared valuable insights on higher education opportunities abroad, including course selection, application processes, and preparation strategies. Over 30 Pharm.D and M.Pharm students, the webinar served as an important academic enrichment initiative aimed at helping students make informed decisions about their future academic and professional pathways.
