Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya Students Receive Government of India Industrial Design Registration for Pralay Shamak
A significant achievement for Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya, Vadodara, as its student innovation Pralay Shamak, an autonomous firefighting and emergency response robot, has received Industrial Design Registration from the Patent Office, Government of India.
The design of AUTONOMOUS FIRE EXTINGUISHER ROBOT has been registered under Design No. 501604-001, Class 29-01. The Certificate of Registration was issued on 29 July 2026.
Pralay Shamak was developed by Jainil Patel, Class 10, and Jayvardhan Israni, Class 11, with Mentor Mukesh Bind, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Archana Mishra. The patent filing process was supported by the Regional Community Science Center, Vadodara, a recognized coordinating organization of the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST).
Designed as a first line of defence against fire emergencies, Pralay Shamak focuses on early-stage fire response through autonomous operation, automatic decision-making, fire suppression and emergency alerts. Its 24×7 availability enables rapid response without waiting for human intervention.
The project has already received significant recognition, including the Technical Solution Award at the World Robot Olympiad and the National Winner award at the School Innovation Contest 2024–25 conducted by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell. The team was also specially invited by NITI Aayog to participate in the Republic Day Parade.
With the industrial design now officially registered, the team aims to move towards field testing, industrial collaboration, product refinement and commercialization, with the vision of making Pralay Shamak an affordable and practical fire safety solution for industries, schools, hospitals, warehouses, malls and residential complexes.
From a school robotics project to a Government of India registered industrial design, Pralay Shamak represents the power of student innovation to address real-world safety challenges.
