Publication Alert: Mr Rohit Raj, Research Scholar, DST, SNSS, has published an article titled “The Role of DPSUs in Shaping India’s Atma-Nirbhar Defence Architecture” in the March 2026 edition of Defence & Security Alert magazine.

The article examines the evolving role of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in strengthening India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities under the Atma-Nirbhar Bharat initiative. It highlights how the corporatisation and restructuring of the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) into DPSUs has improved efficiency, accountability, and production competitiveness, thereby contributing significantly to India’s defence industrial base.

The publication reflects the School’s continued engagement with contemporary issues in defence production, strategic autonomy, and national security.

Event alert📢: Glimpses from the One Day Industry–Academia Connect jointly organised by the School of National Security Studies, Office of the Dean’s Student Welfare and Placement Cell, Central University of Gujarat on Friday, 27th March 2026.

The event strengthened collaboration between academia and industry by facilitating meaningful exchanges on contemporary challenges, emerging opportunities, and future pathways for knowledge creation and skill development.

The experts interacted with university leadership, faculty members, and students, and shared valuable insights on corporate security, emerging technologies, industry expectations, and career opportunities in the domains of national security and strategic technologies.

The event also featured presentations by faculty members and students from various schools of the University. Students of SNSS presented their work on GIS and National Security, while the visiting experts toured the SNSS GIS/HPC Laboratory.

Industry-Academia Connect🤝: The School of National Security Studies, Placement Cell, and Office of Dean of Students’ Welfare are jointly organising a One-Day 'Industry-Academia Connect' Programme on 27th March 2026 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Seminar Hall, Mahatma Gandhi Bhawan, Central University of Gujarat.

The event will feature distinguished leaders from industry and academia, including experts from Suzlon Energy Ltd., Michelin, Cavitak, Indasu Systems, and Mitkat Advisory Services, who will share valuable insights on corporate security, emerging technologies, and industry expectations.

We are pleased to share that Mr. Deepak Tiwari and Mr. Ravikant, Research Scholars, Department of Security Studies (DSS), and Mr. Joyshankar Chongtham, Research Scholar, Department of Strategic Technologies (DST), School of National Security Studies, Central University of Gujarat, attended the seminar on “Changing Dynamics in Indian Neighbourhood” organised by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) on 11 March 2026 at Zorawar Hall, Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.

The seminar offered important insights into evolving geopolitical, strategic, and security developments in India’s neighbourhood and their implications for India’s foreign and security policy. Such participation reflects SNSS’s active engagement with contemporary national security and strategic discourse.

“India–EU Engagement on Counter Terrorism: Overview of Cooperation, Gaps and Future Pathways”
on 07 February 2026 at the Two-Day Interdisciplinary International Conference on:
“Navigating Contemporary Conflicts: India–Europe Perspectives on Security, Diplomacy, Social Justice and Global Governance.”
The conference was organised by the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS), Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), in collaboration with the Indo-Europe Education Foundation (Poland) and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS).

The School of National Security Studies (SNSS), Central University of Gujarat, is pleased to share that Prof. Sanjay K. Jha, Dean, SNSS, delivered expert lectures as a Resource Person on 28 February 2026 during the Two-Week Training Programme on Smart Border Management for government officials.
The programme was organised by the School of Internal Security and SMART Policing, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar.
The lectures were delivered on the themes:
