National Science Day 2026 at Parul Institute of Applied Sciences wasn't just an event, it was proof that science has evolved far beyond the laboratory.

From food technology tackling supply chain ethics, to nutrition meeting climate action, to forensic science intersecting with law and food security, our faculty and students showed what applied science truly looks like in the real world.

And the students? They didn't just listen. They built biodegradable bowls, food adulteration kits, forensic fingerprint demos, millet-based health recipes, and published research on nanoparticle drug delivery and marine plastic degradation.

This is the kind of education that doesn't just prepare you for a career, it prepares you to solve problems the world hasn't named yet.

What if the solution to plastic pollution already exists in nature.

Inside the lab, we work with marine microorganisms capable of degrading plastics like LDPE through isolation, characterization, biodegradation assays, and 16S rRNA gene analysis. Every colony on these plates represents a possibility, a biological solution for a cleaner future. 🧫

This research combines marine microbiology, biotechnology, and environmental science to explore how naturally occurring bacteria can help reduce plastic waste sustainably.

Science is not just about discovery, it’s about creating impact for the planet. 🌍
