College of Architecture,SVIT-Vasad College of Architecture is a premier part of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad have been created.

The New English School Trust, Vasad believed in this motto right from the beginning when it was running a school and an Industrial Training Institute at Vasad to educate the young minds. It was in the year 1996 that Shri Shivabhai Patel and Shri Chandubhai Patel conceived an idea of establishing a degre

e engineering college at Vasad to promote technical education. The New English School Trust decided to establish a Self-financed Degree Engineering College with the support of eminent people in this field. The New English School Trust (NEST) decided to name the college as the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT) as a tribute to the great leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who hailed from this area. The Trust formed the Board of Management for the college as per the guidelines of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Board of Management consisted of the technocrats, the educationalists, the industrialists, the social workers, the business magnets of Vasad, and Shri. Shivabhai Patel who had a rich experience of managing a co-operative organization. College of Architecture, SVIT, Vasad was established by The New English School Trust (NEST), Vasad in 2000. College of Architecture is approved by the Council of Architecture, Delhi. Initially it was affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and from 2016 it is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. It is one of the reputed Architectural colleges of the state known for its high quality of pedagogy. With the support of the people of Vasad and well-wishers the required infrastructure such as buildings for classrooms, studios, laboratories, workshops, libraries, students’ facilities, administration block, bank counter, student stationery store, etc. In the year 2019 College of Architecture started a new course of Bachelor of Interior Design which is a 4-year course with an intake of 40 students affiliated with Sardar Patel University. The Management has now decided to move ahead to start the Master’s Programme from the year 2021. We have applied for a Master of Architecture with Sardar Patel University and approved by the Council of Architecture. Till now we were sharing the premises with Engineering college. The Management decided to make a separate building for Architecture and its allied field in the same campus. The Building is under construction and will be ready for occupation by Dec 2020. The building is being designed with full independent resources and facilities. It will then accommodate the Architecture, Masters, and Interior course in the same Building with a provision to add more courses in the future. As Marian Wright Edelman, American Activist for Children’s Rights rightly said Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it we the College of Architecture-SVIT, in the last two decades, has developed leaps and bounds establishing itself as an institution of quality education in Architecture.

We remember & pray for the departed soul of Ar. P. S. Rajan on his 7th death anniversary — not just with silence, but with deep gratitude and love.

Some educators teach subjects.
Some leaders build institutions.
But a rare few shape lives, values, and generations — and Sir was one of them.

As the former Principal of College of Architecture, SVIT Vasad, he was more than an administrator. He was a visionary mentor who believed architecture was not just about buildings, but about responsibility, ethics, culture, and humanity. His corridors echoed with discipline balanced by compassion, and his guidance went far beyond classrooms — reaching hearts and futures.

Even today, his principles live on in every studio critique, every design discussion, every young architect who dares to think responsibly and dream boldly. The institution he nurtured continues to grow because of the strong foundation he laid — of integrity, excellence, and purpose.

For countless students and alumni, he wasn’t just “Sir.”
He was a guide in confusion, strength in doubt, and inspiration in struggle.
Many careers were shaped because he believed before the world did.

Though years have passed, his presence hasn’t faded.
It lives in memories.
It lives in values.
It lives in the legacy of architects carrying his lessons forward.

Today, we bow our heads in prayer and our hearts in respect —
