Ms. Padmini R. Kulkarni, Research Scholar, Department of Chemistry, BLDEA’s S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura, under the guidance of Dr. S. D. Lamani, delivered an excellent oral presentation entitled “Electrochemical Sensing of an Anticancer Drug Temozolomide Using Carbon Paste Electrode Enriched with Porous Carbon Nanotubes and Highly Conductive Titanium Carbide.”

The presentation was delivered at the 44th Annual Conference of the Indian Council of Chemists, held from 22nd to 24th at BVB KLE Technological University, Hubballi. In recognition of the quality and significance of her research presentation, she was awarded an Appreciation Certificate by the Session Head.

BLDEA’s S B Arts and K C P Science College, Vijayapur, successfully organized a one-day Faculty Workshop on “*Effective Practices in CO-PO Mapping for Attainment, Accreditation and Quality Assurance*” on Thursday, December 4, 2025, to significantly enhance the institution’s commitment to Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The session, which drew 82 participating faculty members, commenced at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium, inaugurated by Principal Dr. R. M. Mirdhe and other dignitaries. Dr. Girija Nimbal welcomed the gathering and introduced the esteemed *resource person, Dr. B. Y. Khasnis, Principal of BLDEA’s JSS College of Education, Vijayapur*, who was formally felicitated. The core technical session, running from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, provided highly interactive, hands-on training focusing on the fundamentals of OBE, framing SMART Course Outcomes (COs), understanding Program Outcomes (POs), mastering the CO-PO mapping matrix, calculating attainment levels, and addressing crucial accreditation requirements for NAAC. BLDEA’s S B Arts College, Vijayapur, successfully concluded its External Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) Committee visit today, a critical exercise in institutional quality control and enhancement. The distinguished committee was meticulously constituted for this purpose, headed by the Chairman, Prof. S. H. Guttaragi, from the Department of Biochemistry, University of Agriculture Sciences, Dharwad. Serving as committee members were Dr. Saleem M Desai, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College, Vijayapur, and Prof. Sunilkumar D Tontapur, Department of Physics, GFGC, Vijayapur.

The auditing process commenced with a dedicated session where department heads and cell chairpersons delivered comprehensive presentations, detailing their annual progress, self-assessment metrics, and future development plans.

This was followed by thorough physical inspection. The committee systematically visited various academic departments, administrative cells, and specialized laboratories across the campus. During these visits, the members engaged with staff and meticulously verified a large volume of related documents and records to ensure adherence to academic and administrative standards.

Following the detailed verification and presentation sessions, the committee convened to deliberate on their findings. They expressed significant satisfaction, appreciating the overall organization and commending all departments and Cells for their “tremendous work” and commitment to academic excellence. The visit culminated with the formal presentation and submission of the AAA report to the college authorities. This essential document provides key findings, recommendations, and acknowledgments, guiding the institution’s strategy for continuous improvement and maintaining high academic standards.

Our distinguished resource person Dr. Avinash Gopa, Chairman & CEO of Avyagraha Research and Analytics LLP, delivered an extraordinary session titled “Artificial Intelligence for Problem Solving & Innovation: From Idea to Prototype.”
He highlighted how AI can address major challenges in India, including:
• Rural healthcare – telemedicine kiosks, low-cost AI X-rays, disease surveillance
• Agriculture – crop disease detection, yield prediction, market price forecasting
• Traffic & pollution – adaptive signals, AQI forecasting, IoT pollution sensors
• Water scarcity – groundwater prediction, smart irrigation, leakage detection
• Education & skills – personalized learning, dropout prediction, job interview simulators
• Governance – blockchain records, AI-based fraud detection
• Disaster management – early warning systems and satellite damage assessment
He also showcased his research work on Farmers’ Crop Price Prediction, Mental Health Bed Occupancy Analysis, and explored advanced AI language tools and datasets.

Awareness Program on Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunities

An IQAC and IIC initiative, an Awareness Program on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunities” was organized on 26th November 2025 at the College Auditorium of BLDEA’s S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapur.

The invited resource person for the session was Mr. Ashish Kulkarni from BLDEA Engineering and Technology Incubation Center, Vijayapur. His session was highly interactive and enthusiastic, engaging students in discussions on innovative ideas across various fields. National Constitution Day Celebration 🇮🇳📚

BLDEA’s S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura, An IQAC Initiative the Department of Political Science, organised a special programme on “Contemporary Democratic Values, Rights and Responsibilities” to celebrate National Constitution Day on 26th November 2025 at 10:45 AM in the college auditorium.

Dr. Tarannum Jabeen Khan, Head, Department of Political Science, highlighted the importance of the Indian Constitution and stressed the responsibility of citizens—particularly students—in upholding democratic values, understanding fundamental rights, and fulfilling civic duties. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. R. M. Mirdhe, Principal,
whose guidance added great value to the programme and Dr. P. S. Patil, IQAC Coordinator.

The programme was followed by reading of The Preamble of the Indian Constitution by all the staff and students, reaffirming their commitment to uphold justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity as enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

The 78th NCC Raising Day Celebration was observed with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at BLDEA’s New Campus. BLDEA’s S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapur, along with other educational institutions, jointly organized the programme on 23rd November 2025 under the guidance of the 36 KAR BN NCC.

The event highlighted the values and discipline instilled by the National Cadet Corps. As part of the celebration, a Blood Donation Camp and Sapling Plantation Programme were held, showcasing the NCC’s commitment to social service, national unity, and environmental responsibility.

The programme successfully reflected the NCC motto—Unity and Discipline—and encouraged students to actively participate in nation-building and community welfare initiatives.
