International Yoga Day 2026 Celebration 🧘‍♂️

BLDE Association's S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura, successfully celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2026 at the college campus under the theme "Yoga for Harmony & Peace – Yoga for Healthy Ageing."

The programme was organized by IIC, IQAC, and NSS. Students, faculty members, and staff enthusiastically participated in yoga sessions, pranayama, and meditation activities, promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.

The event inspired participants to adopt yoga as a daily practice for achieving harmony, peace, and overall wellness

World Environment Day Celebration Report
BLDE Association's S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura

The NCC Unit, in association with the Department of Botany and Hasiru Siri Committee, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 at 11:30 AM under the theme "Restore Our Earth, Embrace Our Future." The programme was organized to create environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students. The event was graced by Principal Dr. Anil B. Naik, Associate NCC Officer Dr. Ramachandra Naik M., Hasiru Siri Coordinator Mrs. Krishna Mandla, and Dr. Mahesh Kumar, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the role of youth in protecting nature.

As part of the celebration, activities such as a Tree Plantation Drive, Plastic Cleanup Campaign, Awareness Rally, and Eco-Friendly Awareness Programmes were conducted. A total of 35 NCC cadets and 27 Botany students actively participated in the event and demonstrated their commitment towards environmental protection. The programme concluded with an environmental pledge, inspiring participants to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable future.

NSS Unit-I and Unit-II, BLDEA'S SB Arts and KCP Science College, Vijayapura observed *Anti To***co Day* on 31.05.2026 to create awareness about the harmful effects of to***co consumption and to encourage a healthy and to***co-free lifestyle. The programme aimed to educate students and the public regarding the health, social, and economic consequences of to***co use.

Shri. Milan Rathod, Dr. Tarannum Jabeen Khan, NSS Programme Officers highlighted the dangers of smoking and use of to***co products. Participants were informed about diseases caused by to***co, such as cancer, respiratory disorders, and heart-related problems.

Students actively participated and expressed their commitment to spreading awareness in society. The event emphasized the importance of making informed choices and promoting a healthy environment.

The programme concluded with a *pledge* to avoid to***co and motivate others to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Anti To***co Day served as a meaningful initiative toward building a to***co-free and healthier community.

ಕನಕದಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ಉಷಾದೇವಿ ಹಿರೇಮಠ ಸಂವಾದಕರಾಗಿ ಭಾಗಿ

ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನಕದಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ತತ್ತ್ವ ಪದಕಾರರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ಕಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಅವರ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ “ಕನಕದಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ : ಬಹು ಶಿಸ್ತೀಯ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ” ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿ ಡಾ. ಉಷಾದೇವಿ ಹಿರೇಮಠ ಅವರು ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂವಾದಕರಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಕನಕದಾಸರ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಚಿಂತನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ತತ್ತ್ವಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು, ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಿದರು.

BLDEA's SB ARTS KCP Sci. College, IQAC and Placement Cell Initiatives in collaboration with PG Departments of the College, had organised *ARHA Campus Drive -3.0 * for the Departments of PG studies in English and Computer Science By Vedant College of B.Com and BCA,Vijayapur. This Drive was held in English Language Lab on 14th May, 2026 at 11.am.
Prof. Vidya Patil, Coordinator, M.A Eng. Welcomed and introduced the Vedant Team. Principal Dr. Anil Naik, Placement cell coordinator Prof.M.S. Jevoor, and Prof. R.D. Joshi coordinator of M.Sc(CS) along with faculty members were part of the Drive.
The Drive commenced with a breif introduction about Vedant Management and College. Written Test was followed by Interview process.

Valedictory Function

The Valedictory Function of Cultural and Sports Activities and Endowment Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 was held on 09-05-2026 at the auditorium of S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College under the initiative of IQAC.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Anil B. Naik. Dr. Y. Y. Kokkanavar attended the function as the Chief Guest and addressed the students about the importance of cultural and sports activities in student life.

Prizes and certificates were distributed to students for their achievements in various competitions and activities conducted during the academic year. The programme was attended by faculty members, students, and staff members with great enthusiasm.

Bharat Scouts and Guides, Karnataka, District Association, Vijayapura, conducted a district-level NIPUN training camp from 01/05/2026 to 03/05/2026 at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Training Camp, Burnapur, Vijayapur, under the guidance of Sri D. B. Attar, State Assistant Commissioner.
A total of 5 Rovers and 8 Rangers from S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapur actively participated in the camp. During the training, participants were trained in flag hoisting procedures, knotting, lashing, and various other scouting activities.
Dr. Huchesh Budihal (Rover Scout Leader) and Dr. Usha Hiremath (Ranger Guide Leader) were also present and guided the participants throughout the camp.

The Prevention of Sexual harassment Cell in association with Ladies Hostel Committee organized Yoga programme- "Breath, Balance, Bloom: Your path to inner welness" from 27th April 2026 to 2nd May 2026

The programme aimed at the physical and mental health wellness of hostel girls.

The resource person for the event, Smt. Sunita A. Biradar, Yoga Instructor, Patanjali and Government Ayush department, Vijayapur assisted the students of girls' hostel for yoga practice and meditation.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Anil B. Naik, Principal; Dr. P. S. Patil, IQAC Coordinator. The program was efficiently coordinated by the Chairmen and members of Ladies hostel committee and Prevention of Sexual harassment cell.
