Where are we taking our children? Last week I had some interesting lessons learnt from my children as one of them was struggling in social studies subject and I am very much into that subject and then made her get interested in this subject and just with few hours chit-chat,she could score 10 out of 10 in a small test conducted in her class.But next day I was only shocked to note that if I share some key insights of her whole social studies text book and then help her with a knowledge bank if not a guide or bit bank, her instant response is to use the same and get benefited for herself and when I have tried to motivate her to share such deep insights with her colleagues, she is very reluctant and has demonstrated wild behavior of competitive spirit to score over her friends. This has really disturbed me and pen down this post after a long gap as I am now wondering whether our current education system,parents,teachers inspire our children to cooperate with each other and enhance their knowledge by sharing or develop just competitive spirit which will create huge gap amongst children while they learn at school or college.

The second learning is much more shocking to me as I have discussed with her about how some students,parents and teachers also over indulge in recounting, re-evaluation of their answer sheets, especially of the Bengaluru schools case study wherein photocopying of answer-sheets after results season has become so much mess and so on...Here she has demonstrated her wildest fear by asking me whether her jealous friend can apply with education body/board to re-evaluate her answer-sheet just to see whether that friend can actually make evaluaters to reduce the score if they find some mistakes during re-evaluation...My answer was "NO" to this but disturbed me a lot as how a genius student also can have such deepest fear because of excessive competitive spirit developed amongst children...
