MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING BETWEEN IPQUARD PARTNERS, NEW DELHI & COORG INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES, VIRAJPET – 19TH AUGUST 2026
Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences, Virajpet, and IPQUARD Partners, New Delhi, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 19th August 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening the Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
The collaboration aims to foster innovation, promote research and intellectual property initiatives, encourage entrepreneurship, and create opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers to transform innovative ideas into impactful ventures. The MOU reflects the commitment of both institutions to nurturing a culture of innovation and building a robust ecosystem for academic, research, and entrepreneurial growth.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Sunil Muddaiah, Dean, Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences, and Adv. Jaspreet Singh, Co-Founder & CEO, IPQUARD Partners, in the presence of faculty members and stakeholders.
This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for innovation, intellectual property development, incubation, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and industry-academia collaboration, further strengthening the institution's commitment to excellence and innovation.

INTERACTIVE SESSION ON FOUNDATIONS OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: BASICS & BEYOND COPYRIGHT, TRADEMARK, DESIGN & PATENT-19TH AUGUST 2026
Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences, Virajpet, hosted an insightful Interactive Session on “Foundations of Intellectual Property: Basics & Beyond – Copyright, Trademark, Design & Patent” on 19th August 2026.
The session was delivered by Adv. Jaspreet Singh, Patent Facilitator, IPQuad Partners, who provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and highlighted their significance in academics, research, innovation, and professional practice.
Conducted in a hybrid mode, the session witnessed enthusiastic participation from Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, as well as Alumni, through both online and offline platforms. The interactive discussions enabled participants to develop a better understanding of the importance of protecting intellectual creations and the various forms of intellectual property, including Copyright, Trademarks, Designs, and Patents.
The session also emphasized the growing relevance of Intellectual Property Rights in the healthcare and dental education sectors, encouraging students and faculty to recognize, protect, and responsibly utilize innovative ideas and research outcomes.

INTERACTIVE SESSION ON QUALITY IN HEALTHCARE: THE 10 COMMANDMENTS – PROF. (DR.) MAHESH VERMA – 18TH AUGUST 2026
Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was privileged to host an engaging and insightful hybrid interactive session on “Quality in Healthcare – The 10 Commandments” by Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, on 18th August 2026. The session was attended by participants at the institute, while CIDS alumni joined virtually through the online mode, enabling alumni from different locations to be part of this enriching academic interaction. Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma shared valuable insights and practical perspectives on quality, excellence, patient-centred care, leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery. The session provided an excellent opportunity for learning, interaction, and professional enrichment, inspiring participants and alumni to embrace a culture of quality and strive for excellence in healthcare.

Dr. Basavaraj S Salagundi, Professor and Head of the Department of Prosthodontics, has been part of the scientific program at the 12th Indian Prosthodontic Society, Karnataka State Conference, held at Gokarna from 7th to 9th August, 2026.
As part of the proceedings, he had the honour of conducting a Pre-conference course on "Fundamentals of Surveying and Designing in RPD", in collaboration with distinguished professors Dr. Deviprasad Nooji and Dr. Sunila B. Sangappa. It was an incredible experience engaging with brilliant minds, sharing insights on Removable Partial Denture design, and discussing the foundational concepts that shape clinical excellence.
Sincere gratitude to the organising committee of the conference for entrusting him with this opportunity and for their commendable efforts in facilitating such an enriching academic platform.
