Empowering Voices, Strengthening Democracy!

The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh successfully organized a Panel Discussion on the Immediate Implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, 2023 on 13th April 2026 at its campus.

The session brought together eminent academicians and research scholars who critically examined the journey of the Bill since 1996 and highlighted key challenges such as gender inequality, lack of awareness, proxy representation, and socio-cultural barriers.

The discussion emphasized:

Time-bound implementation of the Act
Encouraging young women’s political participation
Ensuring equitable opportunities within political systems
Creating safe and inclusive spaces for women

👩‍🎓 With 100+ active student participants, including students from MR (A) College, the event turned into a vibrant platform for dialogue, ideas, and change.

Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 on March 09- 10, 2026, under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”

The programme featured addresses by distinguished guests including Prof. Sonajharia Minz, Professor, Jawaharlal Nehru University and former Vice-Chancellor of Sido Kanhu Murmu University, and Dr. B. Devi Madhavi, Principal, Government Medical College, Vizianagaram. They emphasized the importance of education, financial empowerment, and equal participation of women in decision-making.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. T. Srinivasan, Vice-Chancellor (I/c), reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women, particularly within tribal communities.

The event also featured a Tribal Culture Walk, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and contributions of tribal women along with painting and Selfie stand competitions. Faculty members, students, research scholars, and staff participated enthusiastically in the celebration.

The visit featured a vibrant interactive session with our Honorable Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Librarian, Deans, and Heads of Departments. The discussion focused on the university’s mission to foster academic excellence and its dedicated efforts toward the socio-economic development of tribal communities. Engaging with the media from the "Land of the Gods" provided a wonderful opportunity to bridge regional perspectives and highlight the unique cultural and educational landscape of our campus.
